Level selection
There are 2 ways to choose a starting level:
Selecting Play at the welcome screen starts you off with the most common Mahjong Solitaire tile stack, the turtle.
Starting a new game after playing once will randomly select a different starting stack.
If you want to choose a different starting stack, select Level Select on the welcome screen.
When you play the game via the normal mode you are given a selection of 10 levels from 80 different options.
Levels are unlocked sequentially.
Finish one level to unlock the next one.
Levels are drawn from the 80 configurations available on the level selection screen.
If you manually select a board layout design you play one level at a time and the timer counts up rather than down.
Each time you reload the game, you have 2 options:
Resume your previous session. This keeps your previous score and loads the last level you’ve unlocked.
Start a new session. This clears your previous score.
Basic rules
Match identical pairs of tiles to remove them from the stack.
All matched tile pairs must be identical with two exceptions: season and flower tiles.
Season tiles can be matched with any other seasons.
Flower tiles can be matched with any other flowers.
Only free tiles can be paired.
A free tile has at least one side (left or right) with no adjacent tiles & no tile on top of it.
The game helpfully highlights all the free tiles onscreen with a lighter background.
Tiles that are not free have a darker background color.
If no tile pairs can be found, the game automatically shuffles the tiles.
