Cat to the Moon Game for Kids Video Game Play Instructions
How to Play
Fling the cat up & try to keep it in air as long as you can using milk trampolines. Use points earned from fish to purchase upgrades to your catapult and other features to try to make it all the way to the moon.
Starting the Game
The game starts by showing a background story narration and then puts you in active play.
Use your mouse left click button to select the cat, drag it into the catapult, pull down to charge the catapult, and release the catapult to fire.
When the cat is about to run out of momentum draw a line underneath it to act as a trampoline to provide more lift.
After landing visit the shop to buy upgrades.
Tap the screen with a finger to select the cat, pull it into the catapult, pull down to charge the catapult, and then release the catapult to fire.
When the cat’s vertical momentum slows drag your finger across the screen below it to use milk to draw a trampoline.
After landing visit the shop to buy upgrades.
Controls & indicators
The upper right corner of the screen shows your fish savings and has buttons for music control and sound control.
The upper left corner of the screen has a shop button in between plays. Clicking into the shop shows what upgrades you have equipped and the cost of the next upgrades.
Your milk meter is shown in the upper left of the screen during active play.
This is a simple catapult game where your goal is to fling the cat up to the moon.
Eventually the cat will run out of momentum and begin to fall.
You can use milk to draw a trampoline under the cat to bounce it up higher yet.
You can aim the cat at milk or targets so that you regain milk or gather more fish. The angle of your trampoline determines the angle the cat will bounce off at.
Longer trampolines use more milk, but also fling the cat up with more force.
You can bounce the cat off the sides of the screen, though it is typically best to shoot mostly upward unless you are aiming at milk or targets. If you shoot at a steep angle you will waste most the cat’s momentum on horizontal movements & it will be harder to catch the cat with your next milk trampoline.
Fish start off as worth 1 point each, but can be worth as much as 3 or 5 each as you climb higher.
When you hit a bullseye you will score around 20 points and then it will fling you upward again.
When you run into a wall it will give you 15 points when you break the wall tile, but it will take away much of your momentum.
Falling to ground
Eventually you will reach the moon, or run out of milk & momentum, then the cat will fall to the ground.
When the cat hits the ground you can visit the shop to buy upgrades.
You can upgrade 6 different features: milk power, milk spawn, magnet, fish spawn, catapult size, and catapult power.
Milk power – how much vertical lift you will get after the cat touches a milk trampoline.
Milk spawn – how frequently milk appears in the sky.
Magnet – attract nearby fish, even if you do not run directly into them.
Fish spawn – how many fish are in the sky, which can make it easier to score points to buy other upgrades faster.
Catapult size – allows you to charge up your flight more off the start since you can pull back further.
Catapult power – uses a stronger band, which gives the cat more lift initially.
Each attribute can be upgraded 3 times.
The table below shows the upgrade cost for each attribute.
Later upgrades cost more, so it can make sense to upgrade the attributes fairly evenly & focus on buying whatever you can afford.
Beating the game
The game is beat when you reach the moon.
At that point all your upgrades are reset and you can try to play again to see if you can make it to the moon in fewer jumps than it took you the prior playthrough.
This game suggests the moon is 15,000 meters from the surface of the Earth.
The moon in reality is an average 238,855 miles (or 384,400 km) away from Earth.
