How to Play

Time your jumps and double jumps to avoid hazards and make your way across the platforms to the house at the end of each stage. Collect gems to earn continues.

• Starting the Game
  • Tap anywhere on the welcome screen to load the level select screen.
  • Press the PLAY button at the bottom center of the welcome screen to load a level.

    • Use your mouse left click or right click to jump.
    • Press twice to double jump.

    • Tap the screen with a finger to jump. Tap twice to double jump.

  • Basics
    • This is a simple platforming game where you control a fox that automatically runs.
      • The fox runs until he runs into something and then runs in the opposite direction.
      • You control the timing of jumps done by the fox, which can be used to cross chasms, defeat enemies, or collect cherries and gems.
      • You can double jump to extend the distance of your jump.
      • You can jump back and forth between adjacent walls to climb to higher platforms.
    • You are given 3 lives to beat each level.
      • If you run into spikes or an enemy you lose a life.
        • If you beat a level with fewer than 3 lives then you will start the next level with fewer lives.
        • Where you resume play within a level depends on where you died. When you die you may restart near a checkpoint just before where you died.
      • Collecting gems can help you earn continues.
        • Each stage has 3 to 4 gems in it.
          • If you die on a stage and continue you will be able to collect all the gems again from that stage.
        • Each continue costs 3 gems.
          • Each continue gives you 3 lives.
          • When you continue you start at the beginning of the level you lost.

    • This game has 7 levels which are unlocked sequentially.
      • You can’t go back and replay previously beat levels without starting the game over.
    • Winning vs losing
      • You beat a level by reaching the house at the end of it.
      • You die if you run into spikes or walk into an enemy.
        • You are given 3 lives per game.
        • You get a credit to continue the game for each 3 gems you collect.
        • When you continue a game you start on the same level you lost with 3 lives, but 3 gems are taken from your gem savings.
  • Tips
    • Collecting
      • The cherries are not particularly important to the game, so don’t go out of your way and die trying to collect hard to reach ones.
      • If you are about to die on a level be sure to try to collect all the gems on the stage as collecting 3 gems will mean you did not lose any level on the ground & still have the same number of remaining continues.
    • Jump timing
      • Some stages require precise timing of jumps or quick jumps immediately after landing on another platform.
      • In some cases you can double jump to skip a platform and jump further out.
      • The jump timing depends in large part on rhythm, so try not to catch the front edge of a platform or you could end up throwing your timing off on subsequent jumps.
    • In most cases when you run into something you will change direction.
      • In later levels there are moving platforms and platforms with a wall at the edge where you can run into the edge and stay there until the timing is right to make the next jump.
