How to Play

Merge sets of 3 or more identical adjacent tiles together to score points and clear space on the board. Repeat the process until you run out of spots to lay tiles.

• Starting the Game
  • When the game loads you automatically start in active play.
• Game Controls
  • Desktop
    • Use your mouth left click button to select where you would like to play the stone shown at the bottom center.
  • Touchscreen devices
    • Tap the screen with a finger to select the grid cell you want to play the bottom stone in.
  • Controls & indicators
    • Your current score is shown above the playing field on the left.
    • Your all-time high score is shown right of your current score.
• Game Play
  • Lay a stone into the playing field wherever it makes sense to play it.
    • Try to ensure any run of 2 identical stones near each other has at least one empty space to lay a matching stone in.
    • Try not to have loose individual spots scattered across the board & try to leave at least a few adjacent spots empty in each empty area so that you have many play opportunities.
  • In general you should try to keep stones of the same value near each other so that you can make sets of 3 or more to merge together.
    • Stones always merge toward where the last stone was laid.
    • Your merges can set off a chain of merges.
  • Scoring
    • Each merge you create is worth 3 points.
    • A chain merge of 3 into another merge of 3 is worth a total of 6 points.
    • A triple chain is worth 9 points – there is no bonus scores for chain movements.
  • New tiles
    • Each tile you get must be played onto the grid.
    • The new tiles you get typically are in the range of tiles you already have laid on the board & tend to skew toward the upper end of the range.
    • Sometimes you will get the same tile 3 or 4 times in a row, and sometimes the tile distribution is far more varied.
  • Play until you run out of spaces.
    • Each time you make another play you get another stone to lay.
    • The only way to create more space on the board is to make a merge.
    • When you do not have any spaces left it is game over.
