Stickboys Xmas Game for Kids Video Game Play Instructions

How to Play

Switch between the two stick boys and retrieve both each other’s respective keys and as many candy canes as possible. Have both stick boys reach the exit door together to clear each level.

• Starting the Game
  • On the welcome screen, select the play button to begin.
  • Your web browser automatically saves your game progress.
• Game Controls
  • Desktop
    • With your keyboard
      • Press the left and right arrows (red player) or the A and D keys (blue player) to move.
      • Press the up arrow (red player) or the W key (blue player) to jump. Press again while up in the air to double jump.
    • With your mouse, left click to select.
  • Touchscreen devices
    • With your fingers:
    • Tap on the left and right arrows on the left (blue player) and right (red player) to move.
    • Tap on the up arrow on the left (blue player) and right (red) player to jump. Tap again mid-jump to double jump.
  • Controls and indicators (left to right)
    • Top row:
      • Pause button: Pauses the game
      • Hamburger button: Quits the game and returns you to the welcome screen
      • Red key
      • Level number
      • Blue key
      • Remaining lives
    • Bottom row:
      • Blue player arrows (touchscreen only)
      • Switch button
      • Red player arrows (touchscreen only)
• Game Play
  • Basic rules
    • Move around the level and make your way to the doors.
    • To open the doors, collect the key.
      • Each player has a key of their color. They can only pick up the key of their color.
      • These keys are often found on different parts of the level.
    • Use the switch button to change points of view.
      • The color of the button indicates the active player being followed.
      • Switching points of view lets you take the individual characters to different parts of the level more effectively without needing to be together.
    • Collect as many candy canes as you can.
    • Push any large objects (such as boxes) out of the way.
    • Avoid hazards like blades and spikes.
      • If either character hits any of the hazards, you fail and must try again.
  • Lives
    • Each playthrough gives you 5 lives.
    • Each time you die, you use up a life.
    • Lose all your lives and it’s game over.
  • Levels
    • Levels are unlocked sequentially. Finish one to unlock the next.
    • The first level acts as a tutorial for the game.
      • Each time you reload the level, you begin at the last level you’ve unlocked.
• Target Audience
  • The game is suited for players who celebrate Christmas and like cooperative platforming games.
  • The game has no adult themed content.
