How to Play

Move the cats left and right and rotate them to make connections of 3 or 4 more cats of the same color. Score longer chains and combo moves to score bonus points.

• Starting the Game
  • Click the red and white play button at the bottom center of the game’s welcome screen.
  • The welcome screen also offers buttons for controlling sound, developer info, and high scores.
• Game Controls
  • Desktop
    • Use your arrow keys to control the falling cats.
      • Left & right arrow keys move left & right.
      • Up arrow key rotates the cats.
      • Down arrow key quick drops the cats.
    • You can also control the game using your mouse, though the arrow keys work better..
      • Left click to rotate the cats.
      • Click and hold while dragging left or right to move the piece horizontally.
  • Touchscreen devices
    • Tap the screen to rotate pieces and drag to move them left or right.
  • While the game does not have a pause button, clicking out of the browser window into another one pauses the game.
• Game Play
  • Game mechanics
    • All pieces fall down as far as they can in a straight direction. Unlike Tetris where a piece can hang out, if you orient the piece horizontally it will break apart if the pieces under it are not level.
    • After making a move, if you make a match any pieces which were above the piece will fall> You can make multiple consecutive matches in a single move. This is called a Kitty Combo.
    • Matches can be vertical, horizontal, or any combination of the two. Pieces must be directly adjacent to at least one other cat of the same color. You can not make diagonal matches which only touch at the corners.
  • Playing field
    • The playing field is 9 cats wide by 11 cats tall.
    • Cats can be colored in any of the 5 colors: ping, orange, green, blue, or gray.
  • Scoring
    • Scoring in this game HEAVILY favors longer match sequences and combo moves. A few sample scores are shown below.
    • a match of 3 is worth 240 points
    • a match of 4 is worth 6400 points
    • a match of 5 is worth 12000 points
    • scoring a double combo of 3 pieces each is worth 5280 points
    • a combo of 4 pieces with a 3 pieces match is worth 28000.
  • Strategy
    • While the playing field is fairly clear and close to the ground try to line up as many longer chains and combos as you can to score big points, then play more defensively as the playing field rises.
      • Always consider second order effects when laying pieces. In some cases you can make the same match and set up a large secondary match by rotating a horizontal piece orientation twice.
    • If the playing field gets more than 4 or 5 cats tall try to do whatever you can to lower the playing field back down, as your reaction time has to be quite quick if you need to turn a cat sequence vertical and move it to one of the edges of the field.
      • Cats fall at a faster speed as you progress through the game.
    • If you have a piece you do not know what to do with you can pause the game by clicking out of the window and consider what to do with it.
      • When you unpause the game by clicking into the window be sure to do a long click or else you will immediately rotate the piece.
      • Worst come to worst you can align pieces vertically at either the left or right edge of the playing field. Try to keep the central area fairly clean / low & try not to lay any pieces vertically near the center of the screen.

  • The game is suited for kitten fans and match 3 players of all ages.
  • The game has no adult themed content.
