How to Play

Fill the glass with water without overfilling it.

  • Precise game mode
    • Tap on the screen or click your mouse to open the faucet.
    • Tap again or click the mouse again to shut the faucet when you think the water will fill above the dashed line without overflowing.
    • Once the water has stopped running if the liquid is filled passed the line and no water hits the ground for another 3 seconds you win.
  • In addition to the “fill the cup” precise game mode with 20 levels, there are 2 additional game modes:
    • don’t spill: remove wooden blocks from underneath a cup without the cup spilling.
      • click on each block to remove it
      • blocks must be removed precisely in the correct order, particularly in higher levels
      • the cup can also balance off the edge of the wall in some levels
      • the cup can spill water by leaning to a side or by bouncing too hard
      • if the cup spills any water the game is over
    • flippy glass: 5 levels where you must flip the glass over and get it to land on its bottom
      • draw a line to control the direction the glass moves and how high it jumps
      • this game is quite hard as you not only must get the glass to land on its bottom, but you must place it in a position where water can fill into it
      • after flipping the first glass levels are time, which dramatically increases the difficulty
  • The game data is stored in your local browser. A button at the bottom of the game allows you to reset the game data while another button allows you to toggle music on or off.

The goal of each of the games under Happy Glass is to keep the glass full without spilling. You must fill the cup provided to a threshold without spilling. There are three game modes, each more difficult than the last. The first involves controlling the flow of liquid to fill various cups. You clear a level if you fill them without spilling for three seconds. Any less than that threshold, and it’s game over.

The second game is more reminiscent of a tense session of Jenga. It involves removing blocks in the right sequence to ensure the glass doesn’t spill. This is much more difficult than the first mode. Later, harder levels demand you remove some pieces faster than others. At times, you must wait until the glass stabilizes before removing another block.

The final, hardest game involves flipping the glass to the right position. This is by far the most frustrating. The physics engine of the game is not the most cooperative. As though to lampshade this, you only have five levels to clear. It will take a lot of patience to clear. This game provides a lot of variety for such a simple concept. It’s a good choice if you have a lot of time on your hands.

The Precise mode comes with 20 levels. The goal of the game is to fill various shapes of glass containers with just enough water. You click and press the faucet to estimate how much water should flow. Once you release it, water will stop flowing. If a drop of water overflows from the glass, you lose. This means you’ll repeat the level. If the water does not come close to the line marker, you also lose. The water’s consistency is more viscous than regular flowing water. So even when it’s filled to the brim, the water may not spill.

The next mode is called Don’t Spill. This challenges you to remove blocks under the glass of water without spilling any drop. You simply click on the blocks to remove them. Though it starts easy, the number of blocks and positions become more complex. You need to decide which block to remove first without tipping the glass.

The last mode is called Flippy Glass. This is the hardest game of the three. The objective is to draw a line to guide the direction of the glass. The glass should also be filled with water. Playing this game takes practice and patience, so take your time. All game modes do not have a time limit. You can master each one with enough practice.
