The grid comprises blackened cells, white cells, and clues.
Numbers in blackened cells act as clues to numbers you cannot use in a sequence.

How to Play
Fill each compartment in the grid with groups of numbers called straights. No number must repeat in any row or column.
Starting the Game
On the welcome screen, select a difficulty level to begin:

Game Controls
Desktop
With your mouse:
Left click on a cell to select it.
Left click on any number on the number pad to enter a “candidate” answer.
Left click on a number twice to finalize your answer.
Left click on the number thrice to remove it from the list of candidates.
With your keyboard:
Use the arrow keys to move your selection.
Once you select a cell, type any number as a candidate.
Type the same number again to finalize it.
Use the delete or backspace keys to clear the cell.
Touchscreen devices

Tap on a cell to select it.
Tap on any number on the number pad to enter a candidate answer.
Tap on a number twice to finalize your answer.
Tap on a number thrice to remove it from the list of candidates.

The game’s controls and indicators are located on the left side of the screen. From the top, they are as follows:

The first row of buttons, from left to right:
Pause button: Momentarily interrupts the game
Reset button: Returns everything to the way it was when you began
Query button: Checks if your answers are correct.

Sound effects button: Toggles the game’s audio cues.
Enlarge button: Lets you switch between windowed and full screen modes
Game Play
Puzzle generation
The game has a puzzle for every day of the year.
Each difficulty level can thus have 365 to 366 versions, one for each day.
To play a different game, do the following:
Choose a new date to play.
Select Next on the winner’s screen.
Select a different difficulty level on the same day.
Objective and rules
The grid
The 9 x 9 grid comprises sections of white squares called compartments
Black squares separate each compartment.
Clues are littered around the grid. The harder the difficulty level, the fewer the clues.
Creating straights
A straight is a row of numbers (from 1 to 9) in any order. Each straight occupies a compartment.
Create rows of straights until you fill in all the empty spots in the grid.
No row or column can have more than 1 of any number.
Clues
Clues can appear in black and white cells. These are numbers you can no longer add to any sequence.
Clues in the white cells are part of a sequence and must be considered when adding a new number.
Clues in black are not part of a sequence of straights.
Input
While deducing possible locations, you can place in a candidate answer.
You can place as many candidate answers as you need.
Placing in candidate answers helps you track your hunches without getting confused.
Candidate answers are not counted by the query button as “answered.”
Finalize your best answer
You can check whether your answers are on point by selecting the query button.
The game only checks finalized answers.
