- Basic rules
- You can choose a hero from the character selection screen.
- Once you start the game proper, you always start at the designated starting area.
- Move around the level and collect all the fruits.
- You have three options to reach fruits too high up for you to jump toward.
- Double jump.
- Jump off a higher platform
- Wall climb. This involves gripping and sliding over a wall repeatedly until you reach the appropriate height.
- Once all the fruits are collected, the trophy will appear. Make your way to the trophy and jump on top of it to finish the level.
- Hazards, barriers & other features
- Walls
- Walls mostly exist as a barrier.
- You can climb up walls, including the walls that border the level.
- Spikes
- Touching a spike is instant death.
- Try to jump over the spikes whenever you see them.
- Unstable platforms
- These can be distinguished by the presence of propellers below them.
- You can only stand on these platforms for a brief period before they collapse.
- Jump off them as quickly as you can.
- Trampolines
- Trampolines boost your jumps, making them useful in some situations and barriers in others.
- Trampolines act as barriers whenever they cover a platform that has something beneath it.
- Flamethrowers
- Some platforms you step on quickly shoot out a flame upward, requiring you to stay in constant motion as you cross them.
- The fire shoots out for a few seconds then retracts, with the cycle continuing the next time you cross the fire.
- Mushrooms
- Mushrooms walk back and forth across the platforms.
- If mushrooms run into you then you die.
- You can smash mushrooms & must destroy them to get the cup to appear.
- Fruits
- You must collect all the fruits shown on any stage to activate the exit portal cup.
- Big Boss
- The boss is normally green and walks back and forth on the final stage.
- When the boss is green you can double jump and land on its head to hit it.
- The boss has a health bar along the bottom of the screen.
- After the boss is hit it turns red and runs from side to side back and forth a couple times, then turns back green.
- You must double jump across moving in the opposite direction of the boss to avoid any contact while it is red, or else you die.
- Walls
- Levels
- Levels are unlocked sequentially. There are 25 levels in this game.
- The game automatically loads the next level after you finish the previous one.
- You can replay any of the levels you’ve previously beaten.
- This game offers unlimited continues, starting you at the beginning of any failed level.
- Tips
- Jumps
- Many stages require you to backtrack and cover almost the whole level twice. Try to be complete with whatever areas you cover to minimize the number of times you need to go back and forth.
- Some areas have low ceilings which require precise jumps to get over the spikes. Try to pause between each jump in such a sequence. In many cases it makes sense to walk backward a bit so you have a moving start on the next jump.
- When jumping over spikes near flamethrowers it may make sense to jump when you are almost already fallen off platform so that you make it fully across. Be careful not to double jump in these tight areas or you can end up jumping onto the side of a flamethrower and sliding back into the spikes.
- If you make an error that destroys a temporary platform which you need later you can tap the level restart button.
- Mushrooms
- When the mushrooms move back and forth they sometimes pause on their journey.
- Timing your jumps (or falls onto their heads) around when they pause makes it easier to hit them while avoiding risk.
- Try to hit mushrooms when they are far away from spikes so you don’t accidentally run into spikes after hitting them.
- If a mushroom is next to a trampoline don’t use the trampoline unless you use a far side of it away from the mushroom. When you do jump on the mushroom be sure to jump on its far side away from the trampoline.
