How to Play

Merge the numbered tiles by placing them adjacent to one another.

• Starting the Game
  • On the welcome screen, select the play button to begin.
• Game Controls
  • Desktop
    • Left click on a cell with your mouse to lay down a tile.
  • Touchscreen devices
    • Tap on a cell with your fingers to lay a tile.
• Game Play
  • Basic rules
    • Place tiles on the grid.
      • The tiles you can place come in increments of 1, 2, and 3.
      • You can see the value of your current tile on the bottom center of the screen.
    • To merge tiles, place tiles of the same value together.
      • The tile that forms will be a unit higher than the previous tiles.
      • You can merge up to 4 similar tiles. at once, if you place them in the right area.
      • The merged tiles go toward the space you placed your last tile.
    • The game continues until you run out of space for tiles.
  • Scoring
    • Each pair of tiles merged is worth 1 point.
  • Strategy
    • Avoid forming a checkerboard pattern.
      • Because of the way the game works, a checkerboard pattern of high-value numbers (4 and above) guarantees fewer slots to put new tiles,
      • Once a checkerboard begins to form, see if you can reduce its size by merging more tiles.
      • By the time the checkerboard occupies most of the grid, you often have no choice but to start over, even if you haven’t reached a game over.
    • You need a minimum of 2 adjacent tiles to merge, and much more than that to keep playing.
    • Always lay down tiles you want to merge a space away from where you want them to go.
      • Move higher-value tiles like 3s further away from the space you want them to flow into.
      • Only lay down a tile in the center of an arrangement if you want to merge all the surrounding tiles.
      • Consider bouncing your tiles around:
        • You can do this with the right sequence of tiles. Merge two tiles so that they occupy the center. (e.g. two 1s that form a 2)
        • If your next tile is one unit higher, lay down that tile in the original slow so they will merge and return to the starting position.
        • Once more, this keeps the original space open for a later move.
