How to Play

Move as quickly as you can to the other side of the lake before the ice beneath you collapses.

• Starting the Game
  • On the welcome screen, select Play to begin.

    • With your keyboard, press the arrows to move.

    • Although this game might load on touchscreen devices, its controls were optimized for desktops with keyboards.

    • Number of steps required
    • Number of steps taken
• Game Play
  • Basic rules
    • You begin at one end of a maze on one of two stable platforms you can stand on.
    • Walk through the ice as quickly as you can to reach the other stable platform on the other end.
      • The ice breaks in a linear fashion. See if you can turn as soon as you can.
      • The ice breaks and sinks after less than a second of being stepped on. Move away from the ice as quickly as you can.
      • If you fall into the ice, it’s game over.
    • In later levels, you must collect keys to open locked doors.
      • Reach the key first, then make your way to the door.
    • On the end screen are the following controls:
      • Select the home button on the left to quit the game and return to the welcome screen.
      • Select the reset button on the center to restart the level.
      • Select the next button on the right to load the next level. This is only available if you clear the level.
  • Levels
    • All 30 levels are unlocked sequentially. If you lose a level you can try it again an unlimited number of times.
    • Your browser does not save your progress. Each time you reload the game, you begin at the first level.

Don’t Play In Thin Ice

If you get a lot of snow in wintertime, the lakes and ponds around your community may become walkable. However, thin ice is still a very real danger. Don’t walk on a frozen lake or pond if you don’t know how thick the ice is. And even seemingly safe ice can get dangerous for reasons you may not be aware of. Follow all precautions and stay safe.
