How to Play

Help the Lone Ranger and Tonto defeat the bandits on the train.

• Starting the Game
  • Select the start button on the lower right corner of the welcome screen to begin.
  • The game begins with a splash screen describing the game’s premise.
    • Hit Next to go to the instruction page.
  • The next page after that shows the game’s instructions.
    • Select Let’s Run to begin.
• Game Controls
  • Desktop
    • Jump using the up arrow key.
    • Duck from obstacles with the down arrow key.
    • Use the space bar to attack.
  • Touchscreen devices
    • Although this game might load on touchscreen devices, the game’s controls are optimized for desktops with keyboards.
• Game Play
  • Interface
    • The number of train cars you must cross is shown on the upper left corner.
    • On the upper right corner is the pause button.
      • When paused, the game shows the following options at the center of the screen:
        • Question mark button: Shows the game’s instructions.
        • Sound button: Toggles the game’s audio
        • Back button: Returns you to the mission screen.
        • Play button: Resumes the game
      • The home button on the upper left corner takes you back to the home page.
    • View your score at the upper center corner of the screen.
  • Basics
    • The Lone Ranger and Tonto are, hilariously, chained together. Talk about teeth-clenched teamwork.
      • They walk automatically.
      • To attack, they use the chain.
    • To get in between train cars, they must jump.
      • They can also jump to collect coins and power-ups.
      • To avoid incoming obstacles, duck.
  • Completion
    • Clear the level by taking down all the outlaws and moving to a specific car in the end.
    • When you clear a level, the train passes into a tunnel.
  • Health
    • If you fall or get hit by obstacles, you lose health.
    • If you lose all your health, it’s game over.
    • Collect ranger stars to restore your health.
    • If you die at any subsequent level, you lose your previous points.
  • Collectibles and power ups
    • The Ranger and Tonto will collect any of the coins strewn across the level.
    • Often, they would need to jump to get at them.
    • Collecting a ranger star power up will restore your health.
    • Collecting a 2x bonus power up will multiply your high score.
  • Scoring
    • Silver coins are worth 50 points.
    • Gold coins are worth 100 points.
    • Enemies are worth 10 points.
  • Strategy
    • Time your ledge jumps to avoid falling off.
      • Don’t jump too early. Get as close as you can to the edge before jumping.
      • Jump before you reach the edge to make sure you make it.
    • Jump as often as you can to collect coins.
    • Don’t forget to attack the bad guys; they’re worth points, too.
• Target Audience
  • The game is suited for only the Lone Ranger. All other players should proceed with caution. 😀
  • The game has no adult content.
