How to Play

Hit all the ninjas on each stage with shurikens before they hit you. Use headshots to make quick work of your foes. Invest your coin earnings into upgrading your ninja.

Starting the Game
- Press the PLAY button near the bottom center of the game loading screen to bring up the game’s welcome screen.
- Press the PLAY button near the bottom center of the game welcome screen to start playing.
  - Your web browser automatically saves your gameplay data including coin savings and purchased upgrades.
- Welcome screen features
  - The upper left corner of the welcome screen shows your coin savings.
  - The upper right corner has a sound control button.
  - The lower left links to the in-game shop.
  - Bottom center shows your best game kill count.
  - The lower right shows game developer credits.
Game Controls
- Desktop
  - Use your mouse left click button to select on the screen then drag the cursor across the screen to aim.
  - Release the left click button to throw a shuriken.
- Touchscreen devices
  - Tap the screen with a finger to select then drag your finger across the screen to aim.
  - Lift your finger to throw a shuriken.
- Controls & indicators
  - The upper left corner shows your coin savings.
  - Top center shows your current score.
  - The upper right corner has 2 buttons for pausing the game and controlling game sound.
  - When the game is ended it shows your screens passed, all-time best screens passed score, targets hit, targets killed, shurikens thrown, hit rate, and coin savings.
  - The shop screen shows which upgrades you have purchased & which ones are currently equipped.
  - The welcome screen shows your coin savings in the upper left corner and your best score bottom center.
Game Play
- Basics
  - This is an archery-styled ninja vs ninja game where you throw shurikens at ninjas who are throwing shurikens at you.
    - Defeat as many ninjas as you can before they take you out.
    - Earn coins from defeating foes, with each ninja being worth 3 coins.
    - Use your coin savings to purchase health and weaponry upgrades.
  - Level layout
    - Each level has you battle 1 to 3 ninjas.
    - At the end of each level the platforms ninjas were standing on disappear and new platforms appear.
    - As soon as platforms start to show up you can use them to strategize your shot order and aim at the ninjas so that you can throw a shuriken as soon as your enemies appear.
- Shooting tips
  - Aim for the ninjas which are closest to you and can be hit with shots that do not require a high arc.
    - The closer ninjas are more likely to hit you with their throws, so taking them out first allows you to last longer.
    - The throws that do not require much arc allow you to aim quickly, which allows you to take out many ninjas before any of them get a throw off.
    - Saving the arc shot for last also means that the ninja which is hard to hit will also likely have a hard time arching their throws to hit you.
  - Aim for headshots
    - When you are fully upgraded you can defeat any enemy with a single headshot.
    - Hitting enemies in other parts of the body can require multiple hits.
- Stats
  - At the end of each game it shows your current score & best score, with each screen you make it through being worth a score.
  - Next it will show enemies hit, enemies killed, shurikens thrown, and hit rate.
  - Your all-time best score is also shown bottom center on the game’s welcome screen.
- Store
  - In this game you can purchase upgraded headgear, shurikens, and other power ups.
    - After a power up is unlocked it remains unlocked.
    - You can switch between unlocked power ups at any time.
  - Headbange
    - The blue headband costs 150 to unlock & adds 5% to your health.
    - The green headband costs 300 to unlock & adds 10% to your health.
    - The orange headband costs 400 to unlock & adds 15% to your health.
    - The red helmet costs 600 to unlock & adds 20% to your health.
  - Shurikens
    - Gold shurikens cost 200 to unlock & do 5% extra damage.
    - Fidget spinners cost 400 to unlock & do 10% extra damage.
    - 6 pointed black stars cost 500 to unlock & do 15% extra damage.
    - Polished ninja stars cost 700 to unlock & do 20% extra damage.
  - Power-ups
    - Shield costs 1,000. It protects you from taking damage up to 3 times, but does not restore after being used.
      - Shield is the best power up to equip since you can defeat any ninja with a single headshot even without using bombs or super ray.
    - Super ray costs 1,000. It does extra damage via a lightning bolt each time you hit an enemy.
    - Bombs cost 1,000. When bomb is equipped you throw a bomb on every fourth throw.
