  • Desktop
    • With your mouse, left click to keep the flyer aloft.
  • Touchscreen devices
    • To keep the flyer aloft, tap on the screen with your fingers.
  • Controls and indicators
    • The game’s controls and indicators are located on the top row. From left to right, they are as follows:
      • Your score
      • Hamburger button: Returns you to the welcome screen
      • Speaker button: Turns the game’s sound on or off
• Game Play
  • Keep Alberto Santos Dumont’s airplane, the No. 14-bis, aloft for as long as you can.
    • Each time you left click or tap, the airplane flies a bit higher.
    • In between each click or tap, the airplane descends.
  • Pass through as many gaps between the tree trunks as you can.
    • Time each ascent and descent so the plane can weave through the tree trunks.
    • The plane must pass through the gaps.
  • Do not let the airplane hit the tree trunks or the ground. If it crashes, it’s game over.
    • If you crash, you can click or tap anywhere on the game over screen to start again.
    • You can see your previous best score on the bottom right corner of the game over screen.

About Alberto Santos Dumont

Alberto Santos Dumont was a Brazilian inventor and aviator and one of the pioneers of heavier-than-air flying machines. A contemporary of the Wright brothers, he was first known for his crowd-pleasing aerial escapades using airships. He later built his own line of airplanes, starting with the No. 14-Bis. On its second flight—which was witnessed by large crowds in Paris on October 23, 1906—it flew a distance of 197 feet (60.04 meters) and reached an altitude of 10 feet (3.04 meters).
