Merge Shooter Game for Kids Video Game Play Instructions

How to Play

Purchase cannons, merge them, and upgrade them to make stronger cannons which take out the waves of incoming enemies. Upgrade your base wall so it can withstand damage from incoming enemies until your cannons take them out.

Starting the Game
- Press the PLAY button in the center of the welcome screen to start the game.
- The upper left corner of the welcome screen has a settings button for deleting gameplay data.
Game Controls
- Desktop
  - Tap on the purchase button in the lower center to purchase cannons.
  - Use your mouse left click button to merge 2 like cannons together and to drag cannons into position.
- Touchscreen devices
  - Tap the screen with a finger to buy cannons, merge cannons, and lay cannons into position.
- Controls & indicators
  - Top
    - The upper left corner has a back button with a sound control button next to it.
    - To the right of the back button is what level number you are currently on.
    - Right of the level number is a wave indicator, which shows how many waves the current level has and how many of the waves you have fought through (in light blue).
    - The upper right corner shows your remaining coins.
  - Cannon area
    - Each of the cannons you have fighting show what level number they are in the lower right.
    - You can store up to 12 additional cannons in the 2 rows below the fighting wall.
      - These can be merged together, or merged with cannons already on the wall.
  - Bottom row
    - The cannon upgrade button in the lower left reveals the menu for upgrading your cannons.
      - Each of the 20 strength cannons can be upgraded 4 times each.
      - The first cannon starts off at 500 coins to upgrade it, while the final cannon starts off at 100 million coins.
      - Each upgrade within a particular cannon type costs more than the cannon before.
    - The cannon purchase button shows you the cost of buying your next cannon.
      - When you buy a cannon it can be valued within a random array. You could, for instance, purcahase a cannon that turned out to be level 1 or level 4.
      - The cost of buying cannons increases as you buy more of them.
    - Your defensive wall can be upgraded.
      - Your current level number is shown at the left edge of the green button in a shield shape.
      - The cost of your next wall upgrade is shown near the top of the green area.
      - Your wall health and max wall health are shown at the bottom of the green area.
      - Whenever you upgrade your wall you restore it to full health while increasing its maximum carrying health.
    - The lower right corner has a waste basket you can drag cannons into.
Game Play
- Basics
  - This is a base defense game where your cannons automatically shoot oncoming enemies.
  - Cannons
    - Your cannons automatically fire at approaching enemies.
    - You purchase cannons, merge cannons together into stronger cannons and try to keep a strong defense of 6 cannons on the front line.
      - The cannon purchase cost increases as you progress through the game.
      - The initial cost is 100 per cannon, then it goes to 200, 500, 1,000, 5,000, 10,000, 50,000, 100,000, 200,000, 250,000, 300,000, 350,000, 400,000, 450,000, 500,000, 600,000, 700,000, 800,000, 900,000, and 1,000,000.
      - Each time you unlock another cannon the purchase price goes up.
        
        There are a total of 20 different cannon levels.
    - You may keep up to 12 cannons in reserve.
    - Each cannon shows what general power level it is in the lower right corner.
      - You can also upgrade all cannons of a set power level so that they attack more aggressively.
  - Front wall
    - In addition to merging and upgrading cannons you also manage the wall protecting your base.
    - You can upgrade the wall to restore its health to full while also increasing its maximum hitpoints.
    - If you beat a level with partial health then the partial health will carry over to the start of the next level.
    - Whenever you die on a level you can play it again & will resume play at the beginning of the stage with full health.
- Levels / waves
  - Levels are unlocked sequentially.
    - Confusingly, this game calls levels waves, but then within each wave there are dots that represent further mini-waves.
    - You can’t go back and replay previously beat levels without erasing your game progress and starting your game over.
    - The game has a total of 40 levels to play through.
  - Winning vs losing
    - You beat a level by defeating all the enemies on that stage.
    - You lose a level if your wall health reaches zero.
    - This game offers unlimited continues, starting players at the beginning of the first wave in that sequence with full health.
- Tips
  - Wall health
    - If you upgrade the wall during the middle of a wave you restore it to full health, giving you extra hitpoints for that battle.
    - If you go into a level with less than full health it is typically best to not upgrade the wall until after already losing on the level so that you got your first full health playthrough & add the wall upgrade health right near the end of your health status bar.
  - Stronger cannons with more shots
    - Cannon 9 has a double shot, so it is almost like having 2 cannons in one spot.
    - Cannon 12 has a triple shot.
  - It is typically best to keep most or all of your front line cannons at the same level as each other & only upgrade to the next higher cannon when you can
    - create multiple of the higher tier cannon at once
    - upgrade that cannon strength twice right away
    - not fill in gaps in the playing field with cannons that are more than a couple generations behind the current one
