How to Play

Help Fifi make it to the car at the end of each stage to play the next. Time your jumps and double jumps to avoid running into dangerous hazards along the way.

• Starting the Game
  • Press the START button on the welcome screen to bring up the level select screen.
    • Levels are unlocked sequentially.
    • Your web browser automatically saves your game progress.
• Game Controls
  • Desktop
    • Press the left arrow key to move left.
    • Press the right arrow key to move right.
    • Press the up arrow key to jump. Press a second time to double jump.
  • Touchscreen devices
    • Use the on-screen controls.
      • The move left and move right buttons are in the lower left corner of the screen.
      • The jump (and double jump) button is in the lower right corner of the screen.
  • Controls & indicators
    • The upper left corner of the screen has a pause button. Press the pause button a second time to resume play.
    • The current level number is shown top center.
    • The upper right corner of the screen has a home button.
    • The level select screen shows unlocked levels in green.

  • Basics
    • This is a pixelated platforming game where your job is to help Fifi safely make it to the car at the end of each stage.
    • As you progress through the game you’ll face a variety of enemies and obstacles including: spikes, bullets, walking enemies, chains, flowers growing out of pipes, spinning blades, jumpers, spears, Pac-Man, and even the sun shooting sunspots at you.
    • Time your moves to avoid getting hit and help Fifi reach the car to unlock the next stage.
    • The golden platforms are temporary & disappear shortly after you step on them.
  • Levels
    • This game has 34 stages which are unlocked sequentially.
      • You can go back and replay previously beat levels at any time.
    • Winning vs losing
      • You beat a level by safely making it to the car at the end of the stage.
      • You lose if Fifi hits any harmful object.
      • This game offers unlimited continues, starting you at the beginning of the level you failed.
  • Tips
    • Levels do not have a time limit on them, so on some stages it can make sense to go slow and break the stage into smaller pieces, with pauses in between the hard parts.
      • The levels with spears on them or pipes with overlapping chains often require you to pause and time, then go a bit at a time.
    • Some stages are rather hard and are best off completed in a single fast go.
      • If there are many fire chains in a row, a shooting sun, or Pac-Man you may just need to go fast right away.
      • With the sun sometimes it makes sense to move the opposite direction you want to go and jump or double jump to throw its aim off. You can also jump when not needed or double jump so that you throw the sun’s aim off.
    • Adjusting your timing
      • If your default timing is off when you move right away you can estimate roughly how far off you felt it was and count that as a pause or wait before going on the next time.
      • It is best to pass under jumpers either when they are not moving horizontally, or when they are moving the opposite direction you are so that you have greater relative speed.
    • You can jump off the tops of bullets and walkers.
      • Most other enemies must be avoided.
      • On some stages it can make sense to defeat the walkers first and then progress through to the rest of the stage without worrying about them throwing your timing off.
    • When passing around the chains it is best to pass them while moving in the same direction they are (e.g. go clockwise or counterclockwise with their motion).
      • Sometimes using a jump or double jump can help you buy time when not everything is well aligned.
