Telling the time using a traditional clock.
Know what the hands stand for.
Short hand
The short hand points at the hour.
The number it points will always be exactly what it is.
Because of the way a mechanical clock works, the short hand will not always stay close to the number it represents.
At 1 o’clock sharp, the short hand is on 1 while the long hand is on 12.
At 1:55, the short hand would almost be at 2 while the long hand is at 11.
The long hand points at the minute.
When the long hand points at a number, it represents a multiple of 5.
For instance, if the long hand is on 1 and the short hand is on 3, it’s 1:15.
The exception is 12, which represents the beginning of the hour.
In real clocks, the long hand may not point toward the numbers but at the dashes in between. This represents minutes in between the skip counted 5 minute increments.
Target Audience
The game is suited for young children learning to tell the time.
The game has no adult themed content.
