Cabbage Catch Kids Game for Kids Game Play Instructions

How to Play

Catch as many vegetables as you can without catching dirty socks & underwear.

• Starting the Game
  • Click the yellow and white PLAY button at the bottom center of the game’s welcome screen.
    • This will bring up an instruction screen telling you to collect vegetables while avoidng socks and pants.
  • The game also has a sound control button in the lower right corner.
  • At the end of the game it shows how many vegetables you caught and where you scored on the leader board.

  • Desktop
    • Use your mouse left click button to select and drag your mouse left and right.
  • Touchscreen devices
    • Tap the screen and slide your finger left or right to move.
• Game Play
  • Scoring Points
    • Each time you catch a vegetable you score points.
    • Each vegetable type has a different point value. Since the vegetables can be a bit hard to make out (e.g. is red a tomato or a pumpkin) the point values are shown below based on vegetable color.
      • red 100
      • green & white 250
      • yellow 500
      • purple 1,000
    • The default high score is 25,000 by Champion Chowder.
    • You can catch vegetables by sliding the pot into them even if the vegetables are at the same vertical height as the pot when you swipe across.
  • Levels
    • You automatically transition from level to level as vegetables fall.
    • Level transition is not based on points but based on how many vegetables have been dropped.
    • Vegetables fall faster as you progress through the game.
  • Dying
    • You have a lives meter on the right side of the screen.
    • You start the game with 3 lives.
    • Each time you catch red & orange striped socks or neon yellow underwear you lose a life.
    • Lose 3 lives and it is game over.
• Target Audience
  • The game is suited for people who like cabbage – proceed with caution or your brew may contain dirty socks or underpants.
  • The game has no adult content.

Did You Know

This game takes its name from the Cabbage Patch Kids dolls which were produced by Coleco Industries in 1982. The original Cabbage Patch Kids dolls were designed as one-of-one collectible dolls. They were inspired by the Little People soft sculpture dolls created by Xavier Roberts in 1978.

During the Christmas shopping season in 1983 the dolls sold for far more than their $30 retail price. Coleco eventually flooded the market with over 30 million dolls, leaving most of them worthless, but some rare ones made in late 1985 or 1986 sell for hundreds to thousands of dollars depending on scarcity and condition.
