How to Play

Use the settings menu to adjust the game parameters to your liking. Drag your ships into the grid until all have been placed. Shoot strategically to destroy the opposing navy before they sink all your ships.

• Starting the Game
  • Press the PLAY button in the lower center of the welcome screen to start the game.
  • The upper right corner of the welcome screen has a settings button. When clicked it reveals a menu allowing you to control game sound, control game music, and switch to full screen mode.
• Game Controls
  • Desktop
    • Use your mouse left click button to drag ships into place & to select grid cells to fire missiles at.
  • Touchscreen devices
    • Use a finger to tap on the screen and select ships to drag or grid spots to fire missiles at.
  • Controls & indicators
    • White dots indicate where shots have been fired and no ships were located.
    • Red dots indicate where shots have been fired and hit ships.
    • Ships appear in the opposing screen when you have shot every cell of them.
    • The bottom of the screen shows how many of the ships you have destroyed out of the total opposing navy & how many shots you have remaining.
• Game Play
  • Board settings
    • Ship designs – choose between 5 aesthetic themes including modern war ships, ancient ships of sail, kayaks, and sharks.
    • Grid size – 10×10 (100 cells), 12×12 (144 cells), 15×15 (225 cells)
    • Ship count – any number of ships between 1 and 10
    • Sinking requirement – any number of ships between 1 and how many ships are in each navy.
    • Mode – classic or advanced
      • Classic mode – Take one shot on the grid. If every square of a ship gets shot, that ship is sunk. Take turns shooting until one player has sunk all the ships.
      • Advanced mode – Take turn by firing five (total ships) shots at once. The number of shots will decrease when player loses a ship. Take turns shooting until one player has sunk all the opposing player’s ships.
  • Placing ships
    • Drag ships from the bottom into the grid.
    • Double tap a ship to rotate it vertically instead of horizontally.
    • Tap the arrow on the right side of the grid to automatically place all your ships in the grid & then adjust as needed.
    • Press the READY button at the bottom when you are ready to begin shooting.
  • Basics
    • The goal of the game is to defeat the opposing navy before they defeat yours.
    • Classic mode
      • If you play in classic mode you take a shot at a time.
      • Shoot until you hit a ship and then keep shooting on the vertical or horizontal plane until the ship has been destroyed.
    • Advanced mode
      • You start by shooting once per ship in your navy.
      • Each time you lose a ship you lose a shot.
      • Whenever you hit a ship on a turn use the next turn to shoot in the adjacent four cardinal directions. Once you know the orientation of the ship keep shooting along that plane a couple shots in each direction until the ship has been destroyed.
  • Strategy
    • Board placement
      • When laying ships it helps to use a mix of vertical and horizontal orientation so that the pattern is not as obvious as all ships being in one direction.
      • It is helpful to have at least one empty space between each nearby ship so that a player does not accidentally come across the second ship while destroying the first ship.
    • Shooting strategy
      • Shoot a diagonal pattern across the screen until you hit a ship & then focus on the area that ship is in until it is destroyed.
        • When playing in advanced mode it is critical to destroy opposing ships early as you will limit their shots per turn for the remainder of the game.
      • Repeatedly create diagonal patterns every few rows or columns across, adjusting your width wider after destroying all their smallest ships.

  • The game is suited for players who like war strategy games inspired by the original Battleship board game.
