How to Play

Take turns placing Xs or Os on a 3 x 3 grid. Secure the spaces you choose by answering a multiple choice math question. The first player to form a full row wins.

    • With your mouse, left click to select.
  • Touchscreen devices
    • Tap on the screen with your fingers to select.
• Game Play
  • Number of players
    • You can choose the number of players at the start of the game.
      • 1-player: Go against a computer player.
      • 2-player: Play with a friend.
    • In all games, it is the X player who goes first.
      • For 1-player games, this is automatically the human player.
      • For 2-player games, you and a friend must choose who gets to be the X player.
  • Basic rules
    • Win a basic game of tic tac toe against your opponent.
      • Place an X or an O anywhere on the 3 by 3 grid.
      • Form a horizontal, vertical, or diagonal row to win.
      • Alternately, you can force a draw by making sure no player can form a full row.
    • To finalize your move, you must answer a multiple choice math question correctly.
      • You have 15 seconds to answer.
      • The bottom row shows the 4 choices to the equation shown just below the grid.
      • Answering correctly guarantees that the spot you chose is yours.
      • Choose incorrectly, and you lose a turn. Your opponent goes next.

    • Because of the educational aspect of this game, the AI of the computer player is less competitive. Older players might find it less engaging.
