How to Play

Challenge a computer player to a game of tic tac toe. Form a full row of X marks on the 3×3 grid to win.

• Starting the Game
  • Left click or tap anywhere on the loading screen to bring up the welcome screen.
  • On the welcome screen, select the play button at the center to begin.
  • Your web browser automatically saves your best sores.
    • Select Hold Here to Reset Scores at the bottom center of the loading screen to clear your previously saved scores.

    • With your mouse, left click on any space to lay an x.
  • Touchscreen devices
    • Tap on any space with your fingers to place an x on it.
  • Controls and indicators (top row, left to right)
    • Home button: Quits the game and returns you to the welcome screen
    • Music button: Turns the game’s music on and off
    • Speaker button: Turns the game’s sound effects on and off
    • Enlarge button: Lets you switch between windowed and full screen mdoes
• Game Play
  • Basic rules
    • In this game, you always play as X.
    • You and the computer alternate between who goes first.
      • At the very first time you play, you go first.
      • On the second match, the computer goes first, and so on.
    • Form a full row of 3 (either horizontally, vertically, or diagonally) to win.
      • Select any of the spaces to lay down an X on it.
      • Stop the computer player from forming a full row themselves.
    • The first player to form a full row wins.
    • The game ends in a draw if neither you nor the computer player can make a full row of 3.
    • On the game over screen, select Play Again to start a new session.
  • Scoring
    • The game records your win streak against the computer player.
    • Your score appears just above the grid on the game screen.
      • Your wins appear on the left.
      • The draws appear on the center
      • The computer player’s wins appear on the right.
    • A good score has you leading the computer in terms of wins.
      • When you cannot win, the next best thing is to end the game in a draw to deny the computer a win.
