How to Play

Reach the end of the level. Gain points by collecting stars and treasure and defeating various foes.

• Starting the Game
  • On the welcome screen:
    • Select New Game to start the game from the beginning.
    • Select Continue to pick up where you last left off.
  • Toggle the game’s audio by pressing the sound button on the top right corner.
  • Share the game with your friends through the social media buttons on the bottom right corner.
  • Your web browser automatically saves your game progress and best scores.
• Game Controls
  • Desktop
    • Use the left or right arrow keys to run.
    • Use the up arrow key to jump.
    • Use the x key to fire the arrows.
  • Touchscreen devices
    • Use the left and right arrow buttons to run.
    • Use the up arrow buttons to jump.
    • Use the bow and arrow button to attack.
    • While you can use the mouse to operate these same buttons, they are too far apart to be practical. For desktop users, we recommend using the keyboard controls.

    • Top row
      • At the top left corner are your heart points.
      • Toward the top center are the following:
        • The number of arrows you have
        • The number of stars you’ve collected
        • The number of points you’ve earned
      • At the top right corner are the pause and sound buttons.
    • Bottom row
      • The left and right arrow buttons are located on the bottom left corner.
      • The jump and bow and arrow buttons are on the bottom right corner
  • Levels
    • Pick out levels on the level selection screen.
    • There are 6 levels in this game.
      • Levels are unlocked in sequence. You must complete the first level to open the second, etc.
      • You can replay any of the levels you’ve unlocked.
    • Each level has a star rating and score record. Keep playing to improve your rating and score.
  • Objective
    • Reach the end of the level without dying.
    • Collect all 3 stars.
    • Collect as much treasure and defeat as many foes as you can.
  • Collecting coins
    • There are two types of coin in this game.
      • The most common are silver coins, strewn across the level.
      • Gold coins are rarer but are worth more points.
    • Coins can come in boxes that contain both one and several coins.
      • Some coin boxes are located in hard or nigh inaccessible areas.
      • To retrieve coins from these, have your player character bump them.
      • If you want to bolster your score further, you can try to reach these areas, but don’t worry about them to much.
  • Lives and dying
    • Heart points
      • Heart points act as your defense against enemy attacks.
      • Each time you make contact with an enemy, you lose a heart point. Lose them all and you die.
      • You can replenish your heart points by picking up hearts across the level.
        • There are only a limited number of hearts in each level. Use them wisely.
        • Avoid picking up hearts when you have all 3 hearts.
    • Death
      • Enemies: Enemies use up your heart points. If an enemy attacks you 3 times, you die.
      • Plummeting: If you fall of a ledge, you die instantly, no matter how many heart points you have left.
    • You cannot save your progress in this game. To clear your level, you must run through it within a single life.
  • Enemies and ammunition
    • Foes
      • Making contact with enemies causes you to lose heart points.
      • Avoid or kill enemies before they do the same to you.
      • Killing enemies grants you points.
    • Ammo
      • You start with limited ammunition.
      • To gain more ammunition, gather clusters of arrows.
  • Scoring
    • Points
      • Each silver coin is worth 325 points.
      • Each golden coin is worth 1,000 points.
      • Each star is worth 10,000 points.
      • Slaying any enemy is worth 1,000 points.
    • Star ratings
      • Star ratings are independent of your score, but are nonetheless important.
      • You need the point boost from earning a 3-star rating to get the highest possible scores in each level.
      • It is possible to earn a 3-star rating in 2 playthroughs and have different total scores.
• Target Audience
  • The game is suited for people of all ages who like retro platformers.
  • This game has no adult themed content.
