        • You can collect multiple upgrades at the same time like deflector shields, Blue Squadron assistance, and missiles.
        • When in simulation mode touch the void warp icon to change zones.
      • The upper right corner of the screen has a pause button
    • Touchscreen device
      • Use the on-screen controls.
    • Level select
      • The game offers three levels.

        • Starkiller Base Assault

  • Strategy
    • Staying alive
      • Your health bar is shown at the top center of the screen.
      • Avoiding fire is more important than killing all competing ships, particularly when your health is low. Enemy ships can still shoot at you even after the Tie Fighters have passed you.
      • Whenever you see a heart container and your health is low run over it as fast as you can.
      • When your health is low the edges of the screen turn red.
    • Fighting
      • Your laser cannon is far more powerful than your regular shot. Shooting the cannon periodically even when it is partially charged is far more effective than using regular shots.
      • After you upgrade your shot you can automatically shoot regular shots at a slow rate while focusing on the cannon.
      • If you have to choose between only one or the other then repeatedly using even a partially charged laser cannon is generally more effective than rapidly firing on enemies.
    • Upgrades
      • From the game welcome screen you can upgrade your health, cannon power and shot frequency.
        • Each attribute starts off with a 1 in 4 rating.
        • Upgrading to level 2 costs 80,
        • Upgrading to level 3 costs 150.
        • Upgrading to level 4 costs 300.
        • The total cost of upgrading all 3 fully is 1590.
      • Earn a trophy for every 10 challenges you complete. You can view the challenges from the metals button on the upper left of the welcome screen.

Unlike most scrolling shooters, X-Wing Fighter is set on the horizontal. Your goal is to guide the ship (and later squadron) across enemy lines. Reach the end of the level while taking out as many TIE Fighters as you can. Your X-Wing already fires automatically, which will help you defend yourself. But you can also charge a more powerful laser cannon. The laser cannon in partial charge is a much more effective offensive weapon.

Make survival your main goal. The First Order won’t stop sending their TIEs after your squadron, after all. As you go through the game, you can upgrade your X-Wing.

  3. […] Another little gem for you guys is this one! So, I enjoy a little Star Wars and in fact back in the days of MS-DOS, (yes that’s exactly how long I’ve been on the gaming scene and longer I might add) before windows or User interfaces, well maybe Dos shell and when windows OS, was nothing more than a twinkle in the pants of Bill! I actually had the Star Wars Xwing game! This is a fact, loved it! The shooting, amazing graphics blew my mind (Come on! I was using the Spectrum 48k and my mums pc, a 386sx simply could blow my mind!) So when I happened across this little number, you better believe I was all over it like a hot rash! I Still get the buzz when the music comes on what a soundtrack! Inspiring if nothing else. Here’s the link if you fancy having a bash yourself (https://plays.org/star-wars-x-wing-fighter/). It plays a little like the old side-scrolling games of the SNES/Atari ST/Amiga/ Megadrive era, You know the early to mid-90s like playing R-Type omg what a classic game that was, I would spend hours blasting the crap outta the enemy. The online Xwing Game boasts cleaner/crisper music, super easy to pick up and play with no learning time meaning you get straight into the game! Star Wars is a gem of a game for just that 10 mins escape! It’s like a double whammy with this little game nostalgia included and fun!
