How to Play

Bump the rice balls so that all but one rice ball exit the stage without touching any spikes.

• Starting the Game
  • Press the PLAY button in the bottom center of the welcome screen to bring up the level select screen.
    • Levels are unlocked sequentially.
    • Your web browser automatically saves your gameplay data.
    • The bottom of the welcome screen shows how many levels you have unlocked.
  • There is a sound control button left of the PLAY button on the welcome screen.
• Game Controls
  • Desktop
    • Use your mouse left click button to select a rice ball you would like to move.
    • Move left by pressing either the A key or the left arrow key.
    • Move right by pressing either the D key or the right arrow key.
    • Move up by pressing either the W key or the up arrow key.
    • Move down by pressing either the S key or the down arrow key.
  • Touchscreen devices
    • Tap the screen with a finger to select a rice ball you would like to move.
    • Swipe your finger on the screen in the direction you would like to move.
  • Controls & indicators
    • Across the top from left to right there is a button for home, the current level number is shown, and there is a restart level button.
    • In the lower right corner there is an undo move button.
    • The level select screen shows which levels you have unlocked.
• Game Play
  • Basics
    • The goal of this game is to bump the rice balls at each other to where there is only one rice ball on the screen.
      • You can only bump rice balls vertically or horizontally. They can not move at any other angle
      • When you bump rice balls into each other the ball initiating contact stops the square before the ball it hits.
      • The ball it hits continues until it flies off screen or bumps into something else.
      • You can set off a chain reaction where 3 or more balls change positions on a single move.
    • Spikes
      • Starting on level 6 spikes appear in the game.
      • If any rice ball bumps into a spike you instantly lose the level.
    • Blocks
      • Some stages have square blocks on them.
      • These blocks can act as temporary stops for your rice balls.
      • When a rice ball hits a block the rice ball stops and the block disappears.
      • You are not required to destroy all blocks to beat every stage with a block on it, though in most cases you typically do need to use the blocks to beat the level.
  • Levels
    • This game has 30 levels which are unlocked sequentially.
      • You can go back and replay previously beat levels at any time.
    • Winning vs losing
      • You win by safely removing all but one rice ball from the screen.
      • You lose by knocking a rice ball into a spike, or by directly pushing a rice ball offscreen without having another rice ball bump into it.
      • This game offers unlimited continues, starting you at the beginning of the stage you are on.
      • If you have misaligned rice balls which can not possibly hit each other you can also restart the level again, even though you did not “lose” yet.
  • Tips
    • If you make a nonlethal mistake use the move undo button.
    • In most cases you want to try to move rice balls that are furthest out from the grid inward toward the pile so that you can keep making subsequent moves.
    • Pay attention to rice balls in rows or columns with spikes, as those limit your move option. Always move away from the spikes or orthogonally to them.
    • You typically need to use the blocks to beat most stages that have blocks on them.
    • Many levels have multiple different ways to beat them.
