How to Play

Activate buttons and levels in the right sequence to open the exit door. Move to the exit door and go inside it to clear the level.

• Starting the Game
  • Select a number at the center of the welcome screen to start a level.
  • On the top left corner of the welcome screen are the following controls (top-down):
    • Select the speaker button to turn the game’s sounds on or off.
    • Select the music button to turn the game’s music on or off.
    • Select the trash button to clear your current game progress.
  • Your web browser automatically saves you game progress.
• Game Controls
  • Desktop
    • With your keyboard:
      • Press the left arrow key to move left.
      • Press the right arrow key to move right.
      • Press the X key to push and interact with objects.
      • Press the Z key to jump.
    • With your mouse, left click to select.
  • Touchscreen devices
    • With your fingers:
      • Tap to select.
      • Tap on the left and right arrows to move.
      • Tap on the A button to jump.
      • Tap on the B button to interact.
  • Controls and indicators (left to right):
    • Top row:
      • Level number
      • Reset button: Returns the level to the way it was at the beginning
      • Pause button: Pauses the game and opens the pause menu
    • Bottom row (touchscreen controls):
      • Left arrow
      • Right arrow
      • A button
      • B button
    • Pause menu:
      • Grid button: Quits the game and returns you to the welcome screen
      • Speaker button
      • Music button
      • Play button: Resumes the game from where you last left off.
• Game Play
  • Basic rules
    • Activate switches to open doors in the level.
      • Switches appear as levels and buttons on the floor. A wire leads them to the barriers they activate.
      • Early on, you only need to interact with the switches to open them.
      • Later, you must drop and push boxes on top of them to keep them open.
    • The exit door in the level must be activated for you to exit.
    • Open the right sequence of barriers to activate the exit door and leave.
  • Levels
    • All 20 levels are unlocked sequentially.
      • You can replay any of the levels you’ve previously beaten at any time.
    • Winning vs losing
      • You beat a level by passing safely through the orange door.
      • You lose a level if you hit spikes.
  • Tips
    • Some stages require a cadence to complete.
      • Levels like 10 and 20 have rotating platforms that cycle between active and inactive.
      • Get the rhythm set down and jump at a regular pace to keep jumping before the platform disappears and landing on active platforms.
    • Spikes
      • When jumping over spikes sometimes it helps to get a running start.
        • On stages like 17 it can make sense to walk back toward the prior jumped over spikes so that you have room to build up momentum and time your jump before jumping over the next spike set.
      • If the ceiling above you is spiked and you need to jump slightly to activate a wall switch tap the jump button quickly to do a smaller jump.
    • Trampolines
      • On some stages there are trampolines which you need to power off so that they do not throw you into spikes above.
      • On some other stages you have to jump over the trampolines in one direction and then walk in the opposite direction to have the trampolines throw you up toward the switches above without tossing you into spikes.
    • When you are on moving platforms that move vertically you can move from side to side with no problem, but you can not jump off of them until they are at the top or bottom of their track.
