How to Play

Challenge a computer opponent to a badminton match. Earn 5 points to win a round. Win 2 rounds to win the match.

• Starting the Game
  • On the welcome screen, select the play button to begin.
  • Select the wrench button to the left of the play button to open the game’s audio controls.
    • Use the sliders to change the volume level of the game’s music and sound effects.
  • Select the help button to open the game’s tutorial.
  • Select the enlarge button on the top left corner to switch between windowed and full screen modes.

      • Use the A or left arrow key to move left.
      • Use the D or right arrow key to move right.
      • Use the J key to hit short.
      • Use the K key to hit long.
      • Use the L key to jump smash.

      • Use the left and right arrow buttons to move.
      • Use the hit short button to hit short.
      • Use the hit long button to hit long

  • Setting up
    • Character selection.
      • Choose an avatar to serve as your player.
      • There are 6 player avatars to choose from.
    • Character and match customization
      • Choose between training and match modes.
        • Training mode
          • Here, you play against a serving machine.
          • This mode is ideal for beginners who want to familiarize themselves with the game’s controls.
          • There is no score in this mode.
        • Match mode
          • This pits you against a computer player.
          • The rules outlined below apply to this mode.
      • Choose any of the 4 available special powers for your character.
      • Pick out a shuttlecock
      • Pick a field from any of 3 venues.
  • Basic rules and scoring
    • Keep the shuttlecock bouncing from one side of the court to the other.
      • Should a player miss the shuttlecock, the other player scores.
      • If a player hits the shuttlecock and sends it out of bounds, the other player scores.
    • Be the first to score 5 to win the round.
    • Win 2 rounds to win the entire match
  • Power and stamina
    • Each time you hit the shuttlecock you charge your power bar.
      • Filling up the power bar automatically activates your special power.
      • The powers are as follows:
        • Illusion: Creates 2 illusory copies of the shuttlecock
        • Super smash: Increases the power of your returns
        • Speed burst: Increases your speed for a brief moment.
        • Time slow: Slows down the passage of time for a brief period, giving you more time to react.
    • You also lose stamina each time you hit the shuttlecock.
      • You recover some of your stamina over time.
      • You will be unable to move if you lose all your stamina at once.
