How to Play

Defeat all the waves of opponents in each level to clear the stage. Use the coins earned in battle to upgrade your character. Fight through all 30 stages.

• Starting the Game
  • Press the START GAME button on the welcome screen to start the game and go to the level select screen.
    • Levels are unlocked sequentially.
    • Your web browser automatically saves your game progress.
• Game Controls
  • Desktop
    • Use your mouse left click button to select a tile & then move the cursor around the screen to select other adjacent identical tiles, then release when you are done connecting to attack or defend.
  • Touchscreen devices
    • Tap the screen to select a tile & move your finger around the screen to connect other identical tiles, then release to attack or defend.
  • Controls & indicators
    • In the upper left corner of the fight screen your coin savings is shown. In the middle your health bar is shown. In the upper right there is a pause button.
    • Each of your enemies have a health bar above them.
    • The level select screen shows how many levels you have unlocked.
    • The upgrades screen (linked to in the lower left corner of the level select screen) shows what level your gladiator is at & the cost of upgrading to the next level.
• Game Play
  • Basics
    • In this game you play through levels of goblin fights where your moves are based upon what you do on the 7×7 grid of 49 cells where you must connect 3 or more identical items.
      • Connecting lines can go vertical, horizontal, or diagonal.
      • You can turn an unlimited number of times when drawing your connecting line.
      • Connecting lines may cross over other connecting lines, but you may only pass through each cell once.
      • When you complete drawing your connecting line and lift up you attack or defend.
    • Defending
      • Connect 3 or more shields to temporarily create a protective barrier around your warrior.
      • Connect 3 or more meat to restore health.
    • Attacking
      • Connect 3 or more rocks, bombs, or water to attack your enemies.
    • Waves
      • Each level has a variable number of waves on it.
      • The total wave count is shown in the upper right (beneath the pause button).
      • Completed waves and the wave you are currently fighting appear in green.
    • Coins & upgrades
      • You earn coins while fighting through a battle & get to keep those coins even if you lose the level.
      • When you beat a level you win bonus coins at the end of it.
      • Coins can be used to upgrade your character. Simply click on the CHAMPIONS button in the lower left of the level select screen to go to the upgrades menu.
        • Each upgrade costs progressively more: 100, 200, 500, 2000, 5000, 10000, 20000, 50000, etc.
        • The bonuses you earn on later levels are also worth more.
        • Your character can be upgraded a total of 10 times.
  • Levels
    • This game has 30 levels which are unlocked sequentially.
      • Waves
        • Each level has a different number of waves on it. The first level has 3 waves while the final level has 7.
        • Each wave may have a different number of enemies and a different enemy strength.
        • The final wave of the final battle includes a strong boss with 50,000 hit points & 8 other enemies on it.
      • You can go back and replay previously beat levels at any time.
        • Each time you play a level you start fighting its first wave.
    • Winning vs losing
      • You beat a level by defeating all the enemies from each wave on it.
      • You lose a level if your health bar reaches zero.
      • This game offers unlimited continues, starting you at the beginning of the failed level.
  • Tips
    • Equip a shield early on each wave so you do not take much damage & can clear away many of the enemies.
    • Near the end of a wave it can make sense to restore your health and align shield tiles so that you have nearly full health and can quickly equip a shield tile early in the next stage.
    • Try to make long matches when possible to do a lot of damage, though still try to be quick with your movements so you do not have much time delay between your attacks.
    • If your health is low immediately eat meats & then equip shields. Focus on defense until you are in a stable state, then attack.
    • As you play through the game the opponents get harder quicker than you can level up your character, meaning you will need to play faster on later stages & watch your health more closely.
    • If you keep losing in a battle & are close to being able to afford an upgrade consider replaying the prior level or the level before it to earn more coins to fund the upgrade & then retry the level you struggled to beat.
