How to Play

Find the differences hidden within the paintings.

• Starting the Game
  • On the right side of the welcome screen are the following buttons:
    • Play starts the game.
    • Help brings you to the tutorial screen.
    • High Scores stores your previous high scores in the leaderboard.
  • Your web browser gives you the option to save your best scores.
• Game Controls
  • Desktop
    • With your mouse:
      • Left click to identify a difference in the two paintings.
      • Left click and hold to zoom in.
  • Touchscreen devices
    • With your fingers:
      • Tap on a difference to identify it.
      • Pinch to zoom in and out.
• Game Play
  • Interface
    • The left and center of the screen hold the 2 versions of the painting.
    • The game’s controls are found on the right side of the screen. From the top, these are:
      • The level number
      • Your current score
      • The timer
      • The number of differences you found so far
      • The pause button
      • The hint button
      • The speaker button
      • The music button
  • Rules
    • Find all the differences in the image before the timer runs out.
      • There are 6 differences between the 2 images in total.
      • Each time you find a difference, the painting on the left reverts to the appearance of the painting on the right.
      • Sometimes the level is mirrored. You must find the differences in a mirror image of the painting.
    • Because of the textures of the paintings and the often small size of the differences, this spot the difference game is much harder than some of the others we have on site.
    • Avoid clicking or tapping on anything other than any of the on-screen differences.
    • If you’re ever stumped, use a hint.
      • You get a point penalty of 500 points for using a hint.
  • Scoring
    • Earn 200 points for every difference you find.
    • Earn bonus points for finishing the level quickly.
• Target Audience
