How to Play

Collect all the eggs while avoiding all the hazards in the level.

• Starting the Game
  • On the welcome screen:
    • Select an unlocked level to begin.
    • Select the question mark to open the game’s tutorial.
  • Your web browser automatically saves your game progress.
• Game Controls
  • Desktop
    • With your keyboard, press on the arrow keys to move.
      • Move up a square by pressing the up arrow key.
      • Move down a square by pressing the down arrow key.
      • Move left a square by pressing the left arrow key.
      • Move right a square by pressing the right arrow key.
    • You can move multiple squares consecutively by pressing a movement key and holding it in.
  • Touchscreen devices
    • Tap on the arrows with your fingers to move.
  • Controls and indicators
    • Top row
      • Grid button: Quits the level and returns you to the welcome screen.
      • Reset button: Starts the level from the beginning
      • Eggs collected
      • Speaker button: Turns the game’s sounds on and off
    • Bottom row (touchscreen controls)
      • Arrows

  • Basic rules
    • Move around the level one space at a time.
      • Avoid wandering into the water.
    • Watch out for the crows and other hazards.
    • Pick up the eggs.
      • Collect all the eggs to beat (heh) the level.
      • The game automatically ends when you collect the last clutch of eggs.
    • Select the next button on the win screen to automatically proceed to the next level.
    • On the game over screen, select the reset button to play the level again.
  • Hazards
    • Crows
      • Crows start attacking once you come within a 9-tile radius of their nests.
      • If a crow hits you it’s game over.
      • The crows move in a straight path.
      • To avoid the crows, move one tile away.
    • Moles
      • Moles appear out of holes.
      • You must wait for the moles to go down before you can cross.
      • When the moles are up, they block your path.
    • Weak soil
      • Weak soil has the appearance of a cracked version of the game’s standard terrain. They can come in all sorts of colors.
      • You can only stand on weak soil once.
      • Step on weak soil a second time and you’ll fall into the water.
      • Don’t stand too long on the weak soil; you will sink.
    • Bombs
      • Avoid exploding with the bombs.
  • Levels
    • There are 30 levels in this game, which are unlocked sequentially.
      • You can replay any of the levels you’ve already beaten.
    • Winning vs losing
      • You beat a level by collecting all the eggs on it.
      • You lose a level if you fall into the water or hit another hazard.
      • This game offers unlimited continues, starting you at the beginning of the failed level.
  • Tips
    • Speed vs precision
      • When you are going straight for an extended period of time it is best to hold the associated movement key down to keep moving until near the end of the path.
      • If you are in an area making many turns it is best to quickly tap back and forth.
    • Some crows come periodically, whereas others are triggered by stepping on a specific tile.
      • If you are having trouble making it to an egg look to see if there is a neighboring parallel cell you can step on temporarily to evade the crows.
      • Some eggs require you to stand out of position for a cycle so you attract the crows to the wrong row & column, then go back to get the egg.
    • Pain and frustration
      • The moles can appear at the most inopportune time, causing you to get hit by a crow or impeding your movement while you are standing on a weak tile.
      • Be prepared to play some stages dozens of times to get the timing right, and to get lucky with the mole cycle sequence as you progress around the stage.
