How to Play

Each cell of the grid has a value shown in the top and left sides. Mark each cell to form the sum shown in the bottom and right sides of the grid.

  • Starting the Game
    • On the welcome screen, select a grid size to begin:
      • 4 x 4
      • 5 x 5
      • 6 x 6
      • 7 x 7
    • Select Help to read the game’s instructions.
    • Change the game’s language through the drop-down list on the top right corner of the screen:
      • English
      • Spanish
      • Dutch

      • Italian

      • Russian
      • Hindi/English
      • Polish
      • Turkish
    • Your web browser automatically saves your game progress.
  • Game Controls
    • Desktop
      • With your mouse:
        • Left click on a cell once to put a check.
        • Left click on a cell twice to put a cross.
        • Left click on a cell thrice to clear it.
    • Touchscreen devices
      • With your fingers:
        • Tap on a cell one to put in a check.
        • Tap on a cell twice to put a cross.
        • Tap on a cell thrice to clear it.
    • Controls & indicators
      • The game’s indicators are located on the right side of the screen. From the top, these are as follows:
        • The game’s logo
        • The present date
        • The timer
        • The first row of buttons, from left to right:
          • Undo button: Takes back your last action
          • Pause button: Momentarily stops the game
          • Reset button: Restarts the game from the beginning
        • The second row of buttons, from left to right:
          • Music button: Toggles the game’s music
          • Sound effects button: Toggles the game’s audio cues
          • Enlarge button: Lets you switch between windowed and full screen modes
  • Game Play
    • Puzzle generation
      • The game has a different puzzle for every day of the year.
      • You can choose up to 365 to 366 different puzzles for each grid size
      • You can play again by doing the following:
        • Choose the puzzle of a different day by selecting a different date.
        • Select next on the winning screen. This plays the following day’s puzzle.
        • Play a different-sized grid.
    • Basic rules
      • Mark the squares to produce the sums shown on the right and bottom sides of the grid.
        • The top and left sides of the grid contain number values.
          • Place a check in a cell to activate it.
          • Place an cross in a cell to deactivate it.
        • The active numbers in a row must equal to the sum on the right, while the active numbers on the columns must
      • The numbers on the bottom and right sides of the screen appear as fractions:
        • The numerator shows the total number based on the checks you made.
        • The denominator, the larger number, shows the sum you need to reach.
        • Note: When a number is 0/0, it just means that you can’t put anything there.
      • Input
        • Select a cell once to activate it with a check. This adds a number to the bottom and right of the screen.
        • Select a cell twice to put a cross.
          • Cross marks don’t add to your game. You can play without ever adding them.
          • They exist to help you keep track of cells you can’t activate. They become useful for complex games in larger grids.
    • Tips
      • Compare the values to the right and to the bottom before marking off any of the cells.
      • Solve the smaller sums before the larger ones. Ignore rows and columns that require zero.
  • Target Audience
    • The game is suited for people of all ages who like adding numbers & logic puzzle games.
