How to Play

Clear a stack of mahjong cubes by pairing matching blocks of opposite colors.

• Starting the Game
  • On the welcome screen, select the play button to begin.
    • If you have played before, the game will ask you if you want to continue or start a new session.
    • Your web browser automatically saves your game progress and high score.
  • If you want to learn how to play the game, select the help button below the play button.
  • View your past results through the high scores button.
  • Select the flag icon on the bottom left corner to select the game’s language:

• Game Controls
  • Desktop
    • With your mouse, left click to select a cube.
    • Repeat the process with another, matching cube of the opposite color to clear them.
    • You can spin the stone stack using the turn arrow buttons on the left or right side of the screen, or by left clicking a blank spot on the screen and dragging your mouse.
  • Touchscreen devices
    • Tap the screen with your fingers and use them as a mouse.
  • Cube selection
    • In 2D mahjong stones need to be open on either the left or right side. On 3D mahjong open cubes must be clear on at least two sides.
    • When a cube is open and you click on it a picture of that cube appears in maroon on the left slide of the screen.
    • After selecting the first cube you can then select the screen and spin it until you find an open matching cube. You do not need both cubes to be viewable on the screen at the same time.

    • On the top row are the following:
      • Top left
        • Timer
        • Cumulative score
      • Top right
        • Level number
    • On the middle left and right are the rotate buttons. You can also use your mouse or your fingers to rotate the screen.
    • On the bottom row are the following:
      • Bottom left
        • Sound button: Toggles the game’s ambient audio
        • Music button: Toggles the game’s chill bossa nova background music
        • Enlarge button: Lets you switch between windowed and full screen modes
      • Bottom right
        • Pause button
        • Hint button
        • Reshuffle button
  • Levels
    • There are 40 levels in this game.
    • These levels are unlocked in sequence. Finish the first level to play the second, and so on.
    • After you finish one level, you move on to the next one.
  • Basic rules
    • Pair matching cubes of the opposite color (black and white) until you clear the entire stack.
      • You can only remove cubes that have 2 free adjacent sides.
    • You have a time limit to clear each level. The time limit is shorter for each level. The first level gives you 7:38, the second level gives you 7:15, and so on.
      • If you run out of time it is game over.
      • Rather than clicking on the game over button you can refresh your browser screen and then choose to continue your prior game.
  • Scoring
    • Each pair you make is worth 100 points.
    • You also gain a bonus depending on how fast you finish the level, with each second being worth 30 points.
    • Your game score is cumulative across all 40 levels.
  • Hints and reshuffles
    • Hints and reshuffles can help you out of a tight or unwinnable spot, but at the cost of your points.
    • Hints will show you an available pair to match.
    • Reshuffles will change the arrangement of the tiles in the pile.
    • Because they reduce your score each time they’re used, use them sparingly.
• Target Audience
  • The game is suited for people of all ages who like mahjong solitaire games.
  • The game has no adult themed content.
