How to Play

Jump over the bladed gears to break them and earn points and coins. Don’t let the blades touch you.

• Starting the Game
  • Select Play to load the welcome screen.
  • On the welcome screen, select Play to begin.
  • The top part of the screen shows the following statistics:
    • Your best score
    • The number of coins you collected
    • The number of times you’ve played
    • Your most recent score
  • Select the shop button to open the shop screen..
  • Your web browser automatically saves your high score and game progress.
• Game Controls
  • Desktop
    • With your keyboard:
      • Use the W key to jump. You can press twice to double jump & can scale up the walls.
      • Use the A key to move left.
      • Use the D key to move right.
  • Touchscreen devices
    • With your fingers:
      • Tap on the up arrow to jump.
      • Tap on the left and right arrows to move.
  • Controls and indicators
    • Top center:
      • Current score
    • Bottom row (touchscreen controls, left to right):
      • Left and right arrows
      • Up arrow
• Game Play
  • Basic rules
    • Dodge the bladed gears that fall down.
      • Jump over the gears to destroy them.
      • The gears turn green after you have jumped over them & then later disappear as they spit out a pick up.
        • The object which is jumped over does not get fully destroyed until after you are once again firmly standing on ground.
      • Pick up any of the coins or other power ups you encounter.
        • The pick ups only appear for a limited period of time.
    • Spikes & gears
      • Initially you only face blades.
      • After jumping over 5 blades and collecting 5 coins you also face a variety of spinning blades and spears that come out of the walls.
        • A yellow indicator appears where a spike or blade will soon arrive.
        • Don’t let the bladed, spikes, or gears touch you. If you do, it’s game over.
  • Scoring and coins
    • Each time you break a gear, you earn a point.
    • Gears leave behind coins, hearts, and keys as you break them. Pick them up.
      • Coins are cumulative. Each new coin you pick up is added to your total.
      • Hearts picked up give you an extra life.
      • Keys allow you to pick up a variety of power ups, including hearts and coins. Any power ups unlocked via a key only are in effect during the subsequent playthrough.
  • Shop
    • Use the coins you collected to unlock new characters at the store.
      • Earn 250 coins to unlock a random character.
    • In addition to the default cat there are 44 characters to unlock: another cat, black girl bear, golden brown bear, pixel knight, 4 boys, 10 fantasy characters inspired by the Star Wars Mandalorian character, 3 other humans, 8 more knights, 2 mages, a monkey, an orange, 2 orcs, a panda, a penguin, 2 skeletons, 4 workers
  • Tips
    • It is best to jump over blades when moving the opposite direction they are, so you do not need to worry about them when you land your jump.
    • You do not have to try to defeat every blade nor collect every coin. The spikes often make doing so nearly impossible, or force you into a corner you may not be able to get out of.
    • As you play longer the blades move faster and you see more blades and other obstacles at the same time, so it makes sense to play aggressive early in the game and more conservatively later.
    • Try to minimize your time in the air so that the blades you jump over are defeated and you can collect their coins & other pick ups.
    • If you need to stay in the air you can hop on a wall repeatedly, but be careful hanging out near the top of the wall as you don’t know where new blades will come in the screen from.
