This is a modern remake of the arcade classic Snake game featuring 2 modes: arcade and a level-based game.

• In arcade mode collect fruits until you run into your tail, move off grid, or run into a spike.
• In level mode you have to collect a number of fruits to beat each of the 30 stages. Each fruit requires collecting a number of coins to appear.
• See how high you can score in arcade mode & see if you can beat all 30 levels in level mode.

How to Play

Move the snake around eating apples in arcade mode while avoiding running into your tail. In the level based mode collect enough coins to make a fruit appear, collect the fruit, and repeat the process until you have reached the level fruit quota.

• Starting the Game
  • Select the words “ARCADE MODE” on the welcome screen to play in arcade mode.
  • Press the red and white play button in the center of the welcome screen to play through the levels.
    • Levels are unlocked sequentially.
    • Your web browser automatically saves your game progress.
  • The welcome screen shows how many levels you have unlocked bottom center & has a settings button in the lower right for resetting game progress.
• Game Controls

    • Use your mouse left click button to select the arrow buttons on the bottom center of the screen to turn.
    • Due to how the movement buttons change location depending on direction the mob
  • Touchscreen devices
    • Tap the arrows at the bottom of the screen with a finger to turn.

      • The movement buttons are in the bottom center of the screen.
      • The upper right corner of the screen has a home button.
    • In arcade mode
      • The upper left corner of the screen shows how many fruits you collected.
      • The words ARCADE MODE blink at the bottom center.
    • In level mode
      • The lower left corner of the screen shows how many coins you need to collect for the next fruit to appear.
      • The upper left corner shows how many fruits you have left to collect.
      • The level number is shown top center.
      • The level select screen shows how many levels you have unlocked.
• Game Play
  • Basics
    • This is a snake game where you eat fruit and grow longer.
      • As you grow longer you also move faster, requiring more precise movements.
    • You can not run into your own body, nor spikes that appear onscreen.
    • The screen does not wrap so you can not pass through the boundaries.
  • Arcade mode
    • Collect as many fruits as you can without running into yourself or spikes & not going off grid.
    • Each fruit you collect is worth one point.
  • Levels
    • This game has 30 levels which are unlocked sequentially.
      • You can go back and replay previously beat levels at any time.
    • Winning vs losing
      • You beat a level by collecting the fruit quota shown on it.
        • You must clear the stage of coins for a fruit to appear in a random location.
        • After collecting each piece of fruit you get another set of coins in random locations.
      • You lose a level if you go off grid, run into a spike, or run into yourself.
        • This game offers unlimited continues.
        • If you hit spikes or run into yourself the level automatically restarts. If you go off screen you have to hit the home button & then go to select the level you want to play.
  • Tips
    • You move faster as you collect more fruits and grow longer, so adjust your move timing to offset speed changes.
      • Levels are not timed, so it often makes sense to take broader paths around the perimeter, so you do not have to react quickly.
    • This game does not have a pause button, but you can effectively pause the game by switching between web browser tabs.
      • Be sure to have lots of clearance on your path going forward before pausing this way, so that you have time to react when resuming play.
    • If you are playing in level mode do not switch to arcade mode or you may reset your game progress.
    • When fruits or coins are located near spikes try to
      • take a wide lane as you can eat across slightly from your body centerline
      • consume the fruit or coin from a path parallel to the spikes so you do not need to change directions quickly while heading directly toward spikes
      • take your turn from a distance so you have time to adjust it further if you took too tight of a path
• Target Audience
  • The game is suited for players who like games inspired by the classic Snake game.
