How to Play

Spin the helix around to bring down the bouncing ball. The ball must land on the blue parts of the helix.

    • The ball bounces by itself.
    • Use your mouse or your fingers to rotate the helix.
      • To bring the ball down one level, rotate the helix so the ball passes through the gap between.
      • The ball must land on the blue parts of the helix.
      • If the ball lands on the red part of the helix, it’s game over.
    • As you go down, the helix platforms start rotating. You must keep moving the helix to counter the movement it makes on its own.
  • Scoring
    • You earn a point for every level of the helix that the ball bounces down.
    • Your score is shown on the top center of the screen.
    • You can compare your current and best scores on the game over screen.

What is a Helix?

A helix is a three-dimensional shape that comprises a flat surface that wraps around a visible or imaginary central shaft (be it a cylinder or a cone) in a spiral pattern. Items in the shape of helixes in real life include screws, springs, drills, ramps, and spiral staircases. Double helixes comprise a helix that wraps around another helix. Items that form this pattern include certain types of pasta and the DNA in our bodies.

The shape featured in the game is not a true helix as the surfaces form levels rather than wrapping around the central shaft.
