How to Play

Time your rope cuts to allow the princess safe passage to the exit.

• Starting the Game
  • Press the red play button in the center of the welcome screen to bring up the level select screen.
    • Levels are unlocked sequentially.
    • Your web browser automatically saves your game progress.
  • The upper left corner of the welcome screen has a fullscreen mode button.
  • Underneath the play button is a settings button for controlling game sound and music.

    • Press your mouse left click button to cut and drag your mouse cursor across the screen to cut.
  • Touchscreen devices
    • Tap the screen with a finger and drag your finger across the screen to cut.
  • Controls & indicators
    • The level number is shown top center.
    • The upper right corner has a pause button & a button for turning blood on or off.
    • The level select screen shows which levels have been unlocked.

  • Basics
    • This is a simple escape game where you have to untie a stuck princess by cutting each of the ropes holding her in place.
    • Protect the princess and help her make it to the exit by cutting the ropes in the correct order and at the right times.
    • You can cut ropes isolated one at a time, or in rapid succession in a single swipe.
  • Hazards
    • This game features a variety of hazards including:
      • spikes
      • fixed & moving spinning blades
      • swinging axes
      • shooting arrows
      • chemical spills
      • fire
      • flying gargoyles
      • witches’ brew
      • bombs
    • If you run into any hazard you die.
    • Most stages combine multiple different hazards, which can be multiple of the same type of hazard, multiple different hazard types, or both.
  • Levels
    • This game has 30 stages which are unlocked sequentially.
      • You can go back and replay previously beat levels at any time.
    • Winning vs losing
      • You beat a level by safely passing through the exit door.
      • You lose if you run into any obstacle.
      • This game offers unlimited continues, starting you at the beginning of any failed level.
  • Tips
    • On some stages the direction axes spin change, making it easier to beat in some plays and harder on others. Each time you reload the level the axe may swing in the opposite direction.
    • You can bounce off the walls without getting hurt.
    • Many levels have extra ropes on them which have little impact on your initial positioning.
      • If a rope is not needed for controlling your elevation or horizontal momentum cut it immediately so you can have more precise timing when cutting the more important ropes.

    • When the princess dies the game may show blood.
    • You can toggle blood on or off using a button near the upper right corner of the screen.
