How to Play

As Chopper, address a number of mechanical issues for the Spectres. Prioritize the most urgent tasks, but watch out for your stress level.

  • On the mission selection screen, choose between New Mission and Upgrades.

    • Choose between 12 different missions (13 counting the tutorial mission)
      • At the start of the game, only the first 3 missions and the tutorial are available.
      • Newcomers can learn the ropes of the game by selecting the tutorial mission (Training Wheels).
    • Each time a level begins, it shows two briefing screens describing the objective of the levels.
  • Basics
    • Roll around the level and look for tasks to fulfill.
    • Keep up with the task alerts that you’ve been given.
    • Manage your stress levels to avoid things going wrong.
  • Alerts and task priority
    • Alerts appear as arrows with dials across the level map.
    • Maintenance alerts come in blue. Mission-based alerts come in green.
      • Mission alerts have longer time horizons, but will
    • Over time, they count down and change color
      • Blue: Low priority
      • Yellow: High priority
      • Red: Urgent priority
    • If an alert’s timer expires, you receive a strike.
      • If you receive 3 strikes, the Spectres must abort their mission.
      • You can view the number of strikes on the upper left corner of the screen.
  • Stress
    • Chopper is notorious for being temperamental even for a droid.
      • Each task added to Chopper’s queue will increase his stress level.
      • To reduce the stress, accomplish the tasks as fast as you can.
    • Leaving Chopper stressed will increase the likelihood of failure.
  • Tasks
    • General
      • Each task is a minigame.
        • They appear on the right side of the screen.
        • Each minigame comes with a timer at the bottom of the game screen.
        • You have until the time limit to finish the task.
        • If you find yourself overwhelmed, select abort.
    • There are two types of minigames:
      • Repair minigames
        • These minigames involve fixing the ship.
        • They include plugs, welding, extinguishing fires, turret duty, and piloting.
      • Infiltration minigames
        • These are field games vital to accomplishing the various missions.
        • The games included are crew patrol, stealth, and jamming.
  • Upgrades
    • Use the in-game currency you win (credits) to pay for upgrades.
    • Each upgrade level you pay for boosts Chopper’s ability to accomplish tasks.
      • Notoriety level: Gives you access higher-level missions.
      • Speed boost (movement): Lets you move faster on the ship.
      • Speed boost (infiltration): Lets you finish infiltration missions faster.
      • Speed boost (repair): Lets you finish repair missions faster.
      • Time boost (repair): Increases the time you have to complete repair minigames
      • Time boost (infiltration): Increases the time you have to complete infiltration minigames
      • Slower mood rate: Keeps your stress levels down for longer
      • Extra credits: Gain more money from each mission completed.
    • You can boost each upgrade up to 5 times.
  • General tips and tricks
    • If you need to get into a different room quickly, select the arrows leading to them.
      • This way, Chopper goes into the next room without stopping.
    • Prioritize green tasks over blue ones.
      • Green tasks move the mission forward, whereas blue tasks refer to maintenance.
      • Failing green tasks will set the mission back.
      • Take on blue tasks closest to where you are at present.
        • This way, you can keep failures to a minimum.
        • You can also prevent further stress accumulation by doing your tasks quickly.
    • Don’t forget to upgrade.
