How to Play

Score more goals than your opponent before the timer runs out.

• Starting the Game
  • On the welcome screen, select the play button to begin.
  • Select the store button to unlock new characters using the money you’ve earned.
  • Your web browser automatically saves your game progress.
• Game Controls
  • Desktop
    • With your mouse, left click and drag to move your player.
  • Touchscreen devices
    • Tap on the screen and swipe with your fingers to move the player.
  • Indicators
    • The timer appears at the left center edge of the screen.
    • The scores appear on the right center edge of the screen.
      • Your opponent’s score is on top.
      • Your score is at the bottom.
• Game Play
  • Levels
    • The game begins with a bracket of opponents to challenge.
      • Choose the opponents by selecting their portraits on the brackets.
    • The first opponent you face is yourself.
      • Each time you defeat one opponent, you unlock another.
      • You can challenge any opponent you’ve already unlocked.
      • There are 14 different opponents to play against, with each getting harder & faster than the prior.
  • Basic rules
    • With your mouse or fingers, select and drag your player icon.
      • Move the icon around to hit the soccer ball on the field.
      • Your movement is restricted to your side of the field.
    • Each time you score a goal, you earn 1 point.
      • After a goal is scored another ball will be fired into active play.
      • Be careful of not getting scored on immediately after scoring as sometimes the ball comes into play fast and at a weird angle.
    • Score more goals than your opponent before the timer runs out to win.
      • You have 60 seconds to play.
      • If the match ends in a draw it does not count as a win & you have to play the opponent again if you wnat to beat them.
      • If you score fewer points than your opponent you lose, but the game offers unlimited continues.
    • Opponent difficulty
      • As you move up the bracket opponents get more difficult.
        • Greater patience and more attempts are required to win, especially if your opponent fires trick shots at you.
      • In the second row up the bracket
        • you can notice that the girl shoots noticeably faster than you return her shots.
        • when the seal hits the ball it goes at a slow speed briefly than a rather fast speed that feels like a warp.
        • when the Neutella jar strikes the ball it moves fast and shrinks.
      • In the third row up the bracket
        • the ball moves slow then fast than slow when the criminal hits it
        • the shark acts like it is gathering the ball for a while before striking & the longer the gather delay the faster the eventual strike
      • In the top row the opponent power ups are similar to those mentioned above.
    • Play tips
      • Across the bottom row you can play rather aggressively, but it generally makes sense to play less aggressively as you move up the bracket.
      • Try to hit balls at an angle off the walls to get around your opponent rather than hitting straight shots. This gives you two advantages
        • There is a greater likelihood the opponent will either miss the ball, or hit it from the wrong side and score an own goal.
        • It takes longer for the ball to travel, which burns more clock & has you facing fewer returns.
      • Playing position
        • Be careful not to be too close to the top of the playing filed or else you can accidentally get stuck briefly, or wind up scoring an own goal off a deflection.
        • The best position to play most of the time is flush against the bottom rail to give you more time to react to shots & to minimize the odds of an accidental own goal.
      • Your goal & the opponents goals are actually slightly wider than depicted in the game, so be careful to guard the corner upright poles.
  • Store
    • Cash
      • Each time you win against an opponent, you earn cash.
        • Your cash price typically consists of $200 times how many goals you won by.
        • If you won 8 to 3 that would be $200 * 5 = $1,000.
        • It is easier to win by a wide margin in the earlier matches.
        • As you get into higher tiers the games are harder but your earnings per point also increase.
          • In the second row the goal differential is worth $2,000 per goal rather than $200.
          • In the third row the goal differential is worth $6,000 per goal.
          • In the fourth row the goal differential is worth $10,000 per goal.
      • The higher your lead against your opponent, the more cash you earn at the end of the match.
      • Draws earn $100.
    • Use the cash that you’ve won to unlock new player characters at the shop.
      • You can rotate back and forth between unlocked players.
        • When you change characters the playing field color changes. For example, playing as the first girl changes the playing field pink, whereas it turns blue if you play as the seal.
      • In addition to the default character, you can unlock the 13 other characters you play against.
        • Unlocks cost 3,000, 6,000, 9,000, 12,000, 18,000, 24,000, 38,000, 45,000, 60,000, 90,000, 120,000, 150,000, and 210,000.
        • For reference the character names in this game are Luccasneto, Gigi, Focaazul, Sapo, Supergafanhoto, Ladybug, Lobotigre, Focavermelha, Nutinho, Topao, Tubarao, Superfoca, Doutor, and Focapreta
        • When you play against them the characters are significantly different, but when you play as them all players play roughly the same, other than the aesthetics.
        • You do not need to unlock the characters in order. You can skip one if you like.
      • It takes a lot of victories to unlock the top few characters.
        • The easiest way to point harvest is to repeatedly replay the first couple opponents, though even doing that you would need to win about 500 matches with scores of around 8-0 to afford unlocking all the most expensive characters.
          • 785,000 / 200 = a required total goal differential of 3,925
        • If you are good at beating more difficult opponents, then you can save time by working higher up the brackets where the points per goal differential are higher.
          • In general the leftmost character in each row is the easiest character in that particular row.
