How to Play

This is a jetpack platforming adventure game. Use your gun to shoot enemies. Jump and use your jetpack to fly high and collect gems and coins. Make it to the end of each stage to unlock the next level.

Starting the Game
- After the game loads, a cutscene will play showing the game’s basic premise.
  - Select Skip on the bottom right corner to skip the cutscene and proceed to the welcome screen.
- At the center of the welcome screen:
  - Select New Game to begin a new session.
  - Select Continue to load your previous session, if any. This option is grayed out if you’re playing for the first time.
  - Select How to Play to open the game’s tutorial.
- Your web browser automatically saves your game progress.
Game Controls
- Desktop
  - With your keyboard:
    - Press the A key to move left.
    - Press the D key to move right.
    - Press the W key to jump.
    - Press the L key to shoot.
    - Press the K key or tap on the shoe jet button to activate your shoe jets.
    - Press the J key or tap on the rocket button to activate your jet pack.
- Touchscreen devices
  - With your fingers:
    - Tap on the left and right arrow buttons to move horizontally.
    - Tap on the up arrow to jump.
    - Tap on the target button to shoot.
    - Tap on the shoe jet button to activate your shoe jets.
    - Tap on the rocket button to activate your jet pack.

  - Remaining lives

Game Play
- Basic rules
  - Getting around
    - Jump up and down platforms.
    - When crossing chasms, you have two options:
      - You can cross narrow chasms by jumping.
      - To cross wide chasms, use the jetpack to help you jump up higher, then use the jet boots to slow your descent.
    - Be careful when using the jetpack.
      - The jetpack has a limited amount of fuel.
      - It will only start to replenish its fuel when it is empty. It needs a few seconds to replenish its stores.
      - If your jetpack runs out of fuel mid-jump, use your jet boots to slow down your descent so you can land somewhere safe.
    - Jump off of higher up platforms to give yourself the necessary boost.
    - Avoid stationary hazards like spikes, lasers, and blades.
    - Reach the arrow sign at the end to finish the level.
  - Facing your foes
    - Enemies will approach you and will attack if they get close enough.
    - Luckily, they go down after one shot from your blaster.
    - We recommend blasting them the moment you can see them.
  - Collecting items
    - Pick up items by approaching them.
    - Some especially valuable items, like triangles and hearts, are often set in the middle of a chasm. Take extra care when collecting them.
- Scoring and star ratings
  - Points
    - Each coin you collect is worth 325 points.
    - Every enemy defeated is worth 1,000 points.
    - Every triangle you collect is worth 10,000 points.
  - Star ratings
    - Your star rating per level is dependent on the number of triangles you collect.
    - Collect all the triangles to earn a 3-star rating.
    - Reaching a 3-star rating also increases your odds of getting the highest possible score in the level.
- Lives
  - You start each level with 3 lives, represented as hearts on the top left corner of the game screen.
    - Each time you get hit by an enemy or hazard, you lose 1 life.
    - Lose all your lives and it’s game over.
  - You lose all your lives at once if you fall off a ledge.
  - Pick up hearts to replenish one of your lives.
- Levels
  - Levels are unlocked sequentially. There are 15 levels in this game.
  - You can replay any of the levels you’ve previously beaten.
- Tips
  - It is generally better to use the rocket pack then the shoe jets when flying, as the former helps you elevate while the later simply slows your decent.
  - If your rocket is mostly used up you can use it a bit more when landing on a platform in order to deplete it fully so that it refills.
  - Whenever possible try to shoot enemies from afar so you do not have to balance landing tricky jumps with tight clearances and moving enemies.
