How to Play

Guide the snake to fruit and coins to earn points. Keep the snake going for as long as you can without hitting any part of its body.

• Starting the Game
  • On the welcome screen, select Start to begin.
  • Your web browser automatically saves your high score.
    • Your high score is shown below the play button at the center of the screen.
• Game Controls
  • Desktop
    • With your keyboard, use the arrows or the WASD keys to change the direction the snake goes.
      • Press the A key or the left arrow key to move left.
      • Press the D key or the right arrow key to move right.
      • Press the W key or the up arrow key to move up.
      • Press the S key or the down arrow key to move down.
  • Touchscreen devices
    • Tap on the arrows onscreen to have the snake change direction.
  • Controls and indicators (bottom row, left to right)
    • Bottom left (top-down):
      • Large yellow arrow: Indicates the direction the snake goes
      • Speed controls
        • Plus button: Makes the snake go faster
        • Minus button: Makes the snake slow down
    • Bottom center
      • Arrows
    • Bottom right (top-down):
      • Current score
      • High score
      • Pause button

  • Basic rules
    • Moving around
      • The snake automatically moves forward.
        • Use the arrows, WASD keys, or in-game controls to change the direction the snake moves.
        • The big yellow arrow indicates which direction the snake is currently moving.
        • Select the plus and minus buttons on the bottom left corner to change the snake’s speed.
      • This game resembles many of the later snake games found in mobile devices in the early 2000s.
        • There are no walls on this version of the game. If you move to one edge, you emerge on the other.
        • You can use this to your advantage. Use the edges to get to places faster.
      • The snake must not hit any part of its body. If it does, the game ends.
      • Keep playing for as long as you can.
    • Growing and scoring
      • Earn points by collecting fruits and coins.
        • Fruits will remain onscreen until you eat them.
        • Coins are temporary and will disappear after a few seconds. Pick up them up as quickly as you can.
      • Each time the snake eats fruit, it gets longer.
      • The game places lines on the grid that converge on the food. These indicate the direction you should move.
      • We recommend collecting as many coins as you can during the early game.
        • You’ll earn between 2 and 6 times the points from merely eating apples.
        • This way, you’ll reach a much higher score without getting too long too quickly.
  • Scoring
    • Fruits are worth 5 points each.
    • Every coin has a different value:
      • Bronze coins are worth 10 points.
      • Silver coins are worth 20 points.
      • Gold coins are worth 30 points.
• Target Audience
  • The game is suited for players who like snake games.
  • The game has no adult themed content.
