How to Play

Use your magical arrows to create bouncy ladders, bridges, moving platforms, and take on the forces of evil from the dark world. Grab the key and pass through the door on each stage.

• Starting the Game
  • The game loads playing the background story. Press skip to go directly to the welcome screen.
  • Press PLAY to start a new game or CONTINUE to continue playing a previous game.
  • The welcome screen has a sound control button in the upper right corner.
• Game Controls
  • Desktop
    • Press the left arrow key to move left.
    • Press the right arrow key to move right.
    • Press the up arrow key to jump.
    • Press the spacebar to shoot an arrow.
  • Touchscreen devices
    • Use the on screen controls.
      • The move left and move right buttons are in the lower left corner.
      • The shoot arrow and jump buttons are in the lower right corner.
• Game Play
  • Basics
    • This is a basic platforming game where you play as an intrepid archer in the dark world.
    • Keys – each stage has a key you must grab to exit through the door.
    • Doors – where you exit the level.
    • Arrows – multi-use tool which can help you a variety of ways
      • Defeat enemies. All enemies other than the final boss Carl are defeated with a single hit.
      • Create temporary fixed platforms to stand on.
      • Create moving platforms (in a few areas where arrows bounce back and forth).
      • Create ladders to jump higher and reach high platforms.
      • You can have 2 arrows active on the level at a time. If you fire additional arrows it will remove prior arrows.
  • Levels
    • This game has 15 levels which are unlocked sequentially.
      • You can’t go back and replay previously beat levels without starting the game over at the first level.
    • Winning vs losing
      • You beat a level by grabbing the key and safely passing through the open door.
      • You lose if you run into an enemy, run into a spike, or drown in the rising water.
      • This game offers unlimited continues, starting you at the beginning of the level you lost.
  • Tips
    • Building ladders
      • When building ladders with arrows it is helpful to shoot them on the way up.
      • Place the lowest arrow first & then the next higher arrow, so that if the second arrow does not get you high enough you can shoot a third and make the first arrow position disappear.
    • Building bridges
      • Where there are wooden knobs on each side of a passage you can shoot an arrow that goes back and forth like a moving platform.
      • Where that does not exist you can still make the gap smaller. You can shoot an arrow on each side of a gap so you bounce off of one side & then have a smaller gap to cross to land on the other arrow on the other side.
    • Hitting enemies
      • Whenever possible it is best to hit enemies from afar so you are not fighting them while dealing with thorns on the ground and other problems.
      • You can’t shoot through crates, so you have to wait until the enemy is between you and a crate to shoot them.
      • If you are too close to a crate behind you then your arrow may stick in the wall behind you.
      • In some cases you have to build ladders with arrows and then take aim from there to hit the enemy from afar.
      • On some levels the arrow can also be used as a shelter or ceiling to block falling purple poison and other such risks.
      • If you fire more than 2 arrows at a time the earliest arrows may disappear before they hit anything.
    • Quick start
      • On some levels with a tight clearance, you can start moving before the level fully loads, so that you have more time to complete the level before the rising water drowns you.

  • The game is suited for players who like simple platformer games.
  • The game has no adult themed content.
