How to Play

Merge the cards of the four classical elements to form new element cards. Unlock all the element cards to win.

• Starting the Game
  • On the welcome screen, choose a game mode to begin.
    • New mode
    • Classic mode
  • Your web browser automatically saves your game progress.
    • Select the reset button to clear your previous progress.
• Game Controls
  • Desktop
    • With your mouse.
      • Left click to select.
      • Left click and drag to move.
  • Touchscreen devices
    • Tap on the screen with your fingers and use them as a mouse.
  • Controls and indicators
    • Classic mode
      • Top row:
        • List button: Lets you grab new cards
      • Bottom row (left to right):
        • Quit button: Stops the game and returns you to the welcome screen
        • Trash button: Clears all the cards you placed on the squares
    • New mode
      • Top row (left to right):
        • Remaining lives
        • Elements unlocked
      • Bottom row (left to right):
        • Quit button
        • Element square slots: Place the elements to merge here

• Game Play
  • Basic rules
    • You start off with 4 basic element cards corresponding to the classical elements recognized by the Ancient Greeks.
      • Earth
      • Fire
      • Air
      • Water
    • To create new element cards, you must pair each element with another.
      • Each time you create a new element card, you are greeted by a large popup version of it.
      • Mouse over or tap on each of the cards’ thumbnails on the selection screen to see the card’s name and the elements cards it’s made of.
    • These element cards can be merged with the base elements or other element cards produce more cards.
      • Some merges require merging 2 of the same card, whereas most merges require merging 2 different card types.
      • Repeat the process until you’ve unlocked all 100 cards.
  • Game modes
    • Classic play
      • In classic play mode, you must physically drag and drop the cards to merge them with one another.
      • Get cards by selecting the list button.
        • Left click or tap on their thumbnails to get cards. These are automatically added to the screen.
        • Click or tap as many times as you need to get more cards.
        • Close the screen to see your cards.
      • To keep your surface clear, select any of the extra cards and throw them into the trash bin.
      • You can merge for however long you like with no interruptions.
    • New mode
      • The new mode is more organized. You don’t need to open the card selection window as you do all the merging from there.
      • Select 2 element cards. They will appear on the spaces at the bottom center.
        • if you want to remove a card, select the X button beneath it. You can then choose a different element to merge.
        • To bring together the selected card, select the merge button
        • If you succeed in creating a new element card, you see the element card pop up.
          • If the combination doesn’t create a card, nothing appears on the space.
          • If it’s a pre-existing combination you made by accident, the thumbnail of the previously-created element appears.
      • However, you are limited to 10 attempts.
        • You lose a life each time you fail to form a new element card.
        • If you succeed, your lives are preserved.
        • Element cards you’ve formed previously do not count as failed attempts.
        • Use up all your lives and it’s game over.
          • Quit the game and load it up again.
          • You can play another game while keeping all your prior merge discoveries in tact.

      • Duplicate formulas
        • The game is supposed to have 100 different unlockable cards, but there are 2 different sets of outputs where they are created by identical inputs to another item.
          • Energy + volcano creates both ash and eruption, however after ash is created the eruption is not.
          • Ocean + plant creates both algae and seaweed, however after the algae is created the seaweed is not.
          • Neither eruption nor seaweed are used as inputs in another conversion.
• Target Audience
  • The game is suited for players who like strategy card games.
  • The game has no adult themed content.
