How to Play

Move and merge the cards to double their value. Keep merging cards until you run out of space.

• Starting the Game
  • On the welcome screen:
    • Select the play button at the center to begin.
    • Select the speaker button on the bottom right corner to turn the game’s sounds on or off.
  • Your web browser automatically saves your game progress and high score.
    • Each time you reload the game without ending a session in a game over, you automatically begin where you last left off.
    • Your high score appears on the top left corner of the welcome screen.

  • Desktop
    • With your mouse, left click on a card to select it.
  • Touchscreen devices
    • Tap on a card with your fingers to select it.
  • Controls and indicators
    • Game screen (left to right):
      • Top row:
        • List button: Opens the settings screen
        • Remaining cash
        • Current score
      • Bottom row:
        • Trash power up
        • Shuffle power up
    • Settings screen (clockwise from top):
      • Play button: Resumes the game
      • Speaker button
      • Exit button: Quits the game and returns you to the welcome screen
• Game Play
  • Basic rules
    • Move a card to any identical card to merge them together.
    • You can also move cards to non-matching cards or empty slots. This will cause more cards to appear on the topmost row.
      • Do this sparingly, as repeatedly creating new cards on the top rows fills up the upper rows quickly.
      • You also receive new rows when you merge more than two pairs of cards in succession.
    • You can merge your way up to a million, and then the board resets.
    • Keep merging cards until you run out of space for new moves.
  • Scoring
    • You earn points in multiples of 10. The value depends on the value of the cards you merge.
      • The base number of points you get is 20 from merging a pair of 2s.
      • A pair of 4s is worth 30 points, and so on.
    • When the board resets you get a score multiplier that doubles your move scores.
      • You can repeatedly reach a million, with the multiple going from 2, to 3, to 4.
    • You can compare your latest and best scores on the game over screen.
  • Cash and power ups
    • Cash
      • You receive $1 worth of in-game cash each time you merge a pair with a dollar stack.
      • You also receive a ramping bonus of cash each time you unlock a new high-value card.
        • The bonuses arrive starting with the 512 card, where you receive $50.
        • Each subsequent card unlocked increases in value.
      • You can only receive the cash bonuses once.
        • You will not receive anything even if you unlock the tiles again during another playthrough.
    • Power ups
      • Use your cash to pay for power ups.
      • There are two available power ups for you to use.
        • The trash power up costs $150 and automatically removes a set of cards but generates a new row of cards in their place.
        • The shuffle power up costs $200 and moves the cards around, which can cause some cards to merge.

  • The game is suited for players who like games inspired by 2048.
