How to Play

Ride your mountain bike down the side of a mountain. Reach the end of each track within 40 seconds. Avoid flipping over.

• Starting the Game
  • On the welcome screen:
    • Select Play to begin.
    • Select Instructions to open the game’s tutorial sheet.
  • Your web browser automatically saves your game progress.
• Game Controls

    • With your keyboard:
      • WASD
        • Use the W key to move forward and accelerate.
        • Use the A key to lean back.
        • Use the S key to slow down or brake.
        • Use the D key to lean forward.
      • Arrow keys
        • Use the up arrow to move forward and accelerate.
        • Use the left arrow to lean back
        • Use the down arrow to slow down or brake.
        • Use the right arrow to lean forward.
  • Touchscreen devices
    • With your fingers
      • Tap on the tilt left button to lean back
      • Tap on the tilt right button to lean forward.
      • Tap on the left arrow to brake or slow down.
      • Tap on the right arrow to move forward and accelerate.

    • Top row:

• Game Play
  • Basic rules
    • Move forward as fast as you can.
    • Follow the law of the land and tilt slightly while midair to remain in place.
      • Avoid crashing or falling over. If you do you fail the level..
    • Reach the end of the level within 40 seconds.
      • The level’s end is marked by a checkerboard pattern designating the finish line.
      • While the game describes an option where you can add 20 extra seconds to your timer, it is not currently implemented.
  • Levels
    • This game has 30 courses.
      • You automatically start your first session on the first level.
      • To unlock the next level, reach the finish line, then click the play button on the win screen.
      • Each time you reload the game, you automatically play the most recent level you’ve unlocked.
    • Winning vs losing
      • You beat a course by getting to the finish line before the timer reaches zero.
      • You lose a course by rolling your bike or running out of time.
      • If you fail a level you can retry it an unlimited number of times.
  • Tips
    • In most cases throughout the game you want to stay on the gas the full time.
      • There are some weird hills where the grade changes suddenly near the top, in such a way that the game sends you flying high into the air slowly before landing.
      • This burns a lot of time & can make it hard to beat the stage within 40 seconds.
      • In these cases – like on course 12 – it can make sense to approach the top a bit slower so you waste less time in the air.
    • If you get stuck on the side of a hill and do not have enough momentum to clime higher stop pedaling forward, roll backward down the hill until you stop, and then petal forward again.
      • You can petal backward to speed up your reverse motion.
    • Angle
      • In most cases the big risk of the game is leaning forward too much rather than leaning back.
        • If you lean forward too far you can roll, but even if you do not roll a hard impact with the ground slows you down and eats up your valuable time.
      • Whenever you are going uphill you usually do not have to control your lean much, but when you are in the air you need to adjust the angle to try to be perpendicular to the ground you’ll land on.
