Knife Hit Game Play Instructions

How to Play

This is a screen tapping game where players try to throw all their knives at a spinning object without hitting another knife.

  • Game basics
    • Track the spin and pattern of the board. The board may spin clockwise, counterclockwise, pause, change directions, change speeds, or any combination.
    • Throw a knife when you feel it is likely to hit the board without bumping into one of your previously thrown knives.
    • Levels are not timed, though some boards move in tricky sequences which are difficult.
    • The game is over whenever you hit a single knife on a prior thrown knife.
    • Even though the game saves your progress, you start at the beginning of the game when you lose.
  • Earning points
    • Hitting apples earns points which can be spent to buy knife upgrades.
    • A present block in the lower right corner of the start screen grants extra points.
    • Clicking on the sword in the lower left corner of the start screen allows you to buy knives or switch between the ones you are using.
  • Beating end bosses unlocks an additional dozen knife upgrades. End bosses are: cheese, tomato, lemon, sushi roll, fortune wheel, donut, tire, viking shield, vinyl, gear, compass, and doll.

    Your goal is to fire all your available knives into the rotating log. The catch is that you shouldn’t hit any of the knives you’ve already fired. Two things add difficulty to this task. With each passing level, the number of knives you must fire increases. Each board also rotates in a different direction, often having complex rotation cycles. Besides shoving knives, you can also take out apples. Earn enough apples, and you can upgrade your knives.

    To succeed, you must ensure that your knives always have a slot to fill. This gets challenging in later levels when the board gets filled fast. To get far, you must take an analytic approach to shooting. This game strikes the fine balance of difficulty and playability. It isn’t hard to the point of frustration. Likewise, it isn’t too easy, so it doesn’t get too boring.

    At first, Knife Hit might seem like a mindless knife-throwing game. Though the goal is to through all the knives in each level, you need to be strategic in where to aim them. Otherwise, you won’t have enough space for all your knives in the wheel. There’s no time limit, so you can definitely think longer before making your move. Once you hit a knife on the wheel, it’s game over. If you play again, you start back at stage one.

    What makes it challenging are the number of knives. The more knifes you have, the less space you’ll get to throw on the wheel. This makes it harder to aim. The wheel itself moves in different timing and directions. It can go clock-wise, then counter clockwise, depending on the weight of the knives. The movements become more complex the farther you advance into the game. If you hit many apples, you can gain points to unlock more knives. It’s an addicting game that practices patience and precision.
