How to Play

Drag one of the three pieces from the bottom of the field into the 8×8 cell grid. Complete rows or columns to score points and remove the associated cells from the grid.

• Starting the Game
  • At the center of the welcome screen are the following controls:
    • Select Play to begin.
    • Select Blocks to choose the block style to use for the game.
    • Select How to Play to open the game’s tutorial.
  • The top center of the welcome screen holds the following controls:
    • Select the speaker button on the center left to turn the game’s sounds on and off.
    • Select the enlarge button to switch between windowed and full screen modes.

  • Desktop
    • With your mouse, left click to select the blocks.
  • Touchscreen devices
    • Tap on the screen with your fingers to select the blocks.
  • Controls and indicators
    • Back arrow button: Quits the game and returns you to the welcome screen
    • Reset button: Quits the current game and starts a new one
    • Speaker button
    • Enlarge button
• Game Play
  • Basic rules
    • Drag and drop the pieces from the bottom into the playing field at the center.
      • Unlike in other games like this, the playing field is invisible.
      • Grid likes will indicate where you can and can’t put pieces in.
        • You can only put in the pieces if the grid lines around the piece are white.
        • If you see red that means a portion of the piece would be off grid & out of play.
      • Each time you place the pieces onto the field, a new one takes its place on the bottom row.
    • Using the shapes, form full rows of 8 blocks.
      • These will be cleared automatically.
      • Full rows can be horizontal or vertical.
    • Repeat the process as many times as you can.
    • When you run out of places to put the pieces in, it’s game over.
  • Scoring
    • Each time you clear a line, you earn 1 point.
  • Tips
    • Since you get a replacement piece each time you lay one it can be helpful to keep a 1×1 or 1×2 piece in stock so that it is easy to make a lay and complete a line in case you have few other options.
    • Try to play large pieces early so they don’t clog up your available piece slots.
    • Try to create rather complete sections with few holes in them so that it is easy to quickly complete a line or row at any time.
