Cube Jump Game Play Instructions

How to Play

Click on the arrow to start the game then tap the screen or click your mouse to jump from one row to the next.

  • You score points each time you successfully jump and land on a block in the next row.
  • Landing on blocks with a glowing square adds an extra point.
  • Landing on smaller blocks gives more points.
  • After making the initial jump the game is much harder subsequently as rows move in opposing directions which makes it easy to under-estimate the relative speed and landing position.
  • Each row can move at different speeds.
  • Unlike Frogger, this game does not have levels which end when you reach the other side. The game playing field keeps moving as you progress.
  • As you accumulate points you can unlock other boxes by buying them after clicking on the menu at the bottom center portion of the screen.

    At a glance, Cube Jump looks like Frogger or Crossy Road, but with cubes. Your aim is to keep moving your cube across a field of moving rectangular platforms. Miss one, and your cube falls into a black abyss. Distance isn’t the only way to score. The smaller the platform you land on, the more points you receive. You must hop your cube onto the next row of platforms before they disappear off-screen.

    This is, of course, all done with cubes in a sleek, black background. The minimal design isn’t only an aesthetic choice. The colors and movement of the platforms add another layer of difficulty. Each platform conveyor runs opposite of one another. These plus the clash of color make it hard to estimate distance when jumping.

    Unlike other crossing games, Cube Jump lacks still platforms. This one detail ramps up the difficulty by a significant margin. There’s no breather area for the player. Once you start, you must keep your cube hopping to the next platform. It is at once confusing, frustrating, and addictive. It will test your motor skills and your patience, and you will keep coming back for more.

    Cube Jump is a modern take on the classic Frogger arcade game. But unlike its precursor, Cube Jump has a higher difficulty level. First up, the orientation of the entire game is diagonal. This is extra tricky because platforms glide in opposite directions. The goal is to let the white cube cross the screen before the platform moves into black. If you fall or fail to move before it reaches the edge of the screen, it’s game over. The challenge is in navigating from one moving platform to another.

    There are extra incentives to the game. If you land on a platform with a color-changing cube, you get extra points. You also get additional points for landing on a smaller platform. You’ll notice that platforms do not move at the same speed. The black background and the colors may also make it difficult to estimate distance. It’s easy to miss a jump. While it’s hard, it certainly an addictive game you can keep playing.
