How to Play

Turn the correct switches on and off to fulfill the commands of the circuit.

• Starting the Game
  • At the center of the welcome screen, select Play to begin.
  • On the bottom right corner of the welcome screen are the following controls:
    • Select the reset button on the left to clear your previously saved game data.
    • Select the speaker button to turn the game’s sound effects on or off.
  • Your web browser automatically saves your game progress.
• Game Controls
  • Desktop
    • With your mouse, left click on the circuit lights to activate them.
  • Touchscreen devices
    • Tap on the circuit lights with your fingers to activate them.
  • Controls and indicators
    • Top left corner:
      • Number of moves made
    • Bottom left corner (left to right):
      • Home button: Quits the game and returns you to the welcome screen
      • Speaker button
• Game Play
  • Basic rules
    • You begin with a circuit diagram that resembles a flowchart that goes from right to left.
    • Each part of the circuit converges in a circuit gate.
      • To find out what those circuit gates do, select the gate and read the help text.
      • Select the x button on the top right corner of the help text window to close it.
    • Activate the right sequence of circuit lights on the right to switch the circuit on.
      • Follow the logic of the gates to choose which circuit lights to activate.
      • When the right combination of circuit lights have been turned on, you win the level.
    • On the win screen are the following controls:
      • Choose Select Level to return to the level selection screen.
      • Choose Next Level to proceed to the following level.
  • Level ratings
    • Your level ratings depend on the number of selections it took to solve the puzzle.
      • This is represented by the number of lights that appear when you finish the level.
      • The fewer selections you make before solving the puzzle, the higher your rating will be.
    • The highest level rating is 3.
    • Your best rating for a level is shown to the right of its icon on the level selection screen.
  • Levels
    • The game’s 20 levels are unlocked sequentially.
    • You can replay any unlocked levels by selecting their number from the level selection screen.
      • To replay a level, you must return to the welcome screen and select its number again.
• Target Audience
  • The game is suited for players who like simple science & logic games.
  • The game has no adult themed content.

Binary Logic

Like how everything in our heads is electricity and chemical reactions, everything that goes on inside a computer is ultimately about where electricity goes and doesn’t go. The logic behind circuit gates revolves around this principle of two (binary) options, which we represent in math with a series of ones and zeroes.

Circuits determine what a computer does when powered up, and programs determine when those circuits will turn on. While the amount of computing that goes into everyday tasks is staggeringly complex to display things like this game, in the end it all comes back to thousands of these tiny binary decisions.
