How to Play

Prepare and serve hamburgers as ordered by the customers.

Starting the Game
- On the welcome screen:
  - Select Play at the center of the screen to begin.
  - Select the speaker and music buttons above the play button to turn the game’s sound effects and music on and off.
  - Select the shop button at the bottom center to open the shop screen.
- Your web browser automatically saves your game progress.
Game Controls
- Desktop
  - With your mouse, left click to select.
- Touchscreen devices
  - Tap on the screen with your fingers and use them as a mouse.
- Controls and indicators (top row, left to right)
  - Top left corner (top-down)
    - Remaining energy
    - Coins collected
  - Customers to serve
  - Back button: Quits the game and returns you to the welcome screen.
Game Play
- Basic rules
  - Assembling the burger
    - Choose from the ingredients on the lower right.
    - Assemble the burger in the proper order on the dish on the lower left, starting with the bottom bun.
    - If you make a mistake, select the recycle bin icon on the bottom left corner.
    - If the burger is correctly assembled, the customer automatically gets it.
  - Serving the customer
    - Assemble the burger according to the customer’s exacty expectations.
      - The customer’s order appears on the word balloon to their right.
      - On the right of their order is a timer bar measuring their patience.
    - If you don’t meet the order precisely, the customer will reject the order.
      - If the timer expires, the customer will leave before you can serve it.
      - When a customer leaves it costs you one of your 3 lives.
      - If you beat a level with fewer than 3 lives you get all 3 lives back at the start of the next level.
  - Completing the level
    - You have a quota of customers to meet in this game for each level.
      - Satisfy the number of customers required to beat each level.
      - For the first 12 levels you have 4 or 5 customers on each level.
      - Starting on level 13 you can have 6 customers on a level.
      - Starting on level 17 you have 7 customers you must serve to complete a level.
    - Each time you finish a level, you make progress toward unlocking a new ingredient for your burgers. This is based on how much money you’ve earned in the level.
  - Toppings
    - You start off with meat and buns unlocked.
    - Next you unlock lettuce, then tomato, then cheese.
    - Each additional unlock requires a greater than linear increase in earnings.
      - You get lettuce after 1 round.
      - Tomato is unlocked after 2 more rounds.
      - Cheese is unlocked after 4 more rounds.
      - Red sauce (ketchup) is unlocked after 4 more rounds.
      - Yellow sauce (mustard) is unlocked after 4 more rounds.
- Lives
  - Your lives are represented by thunderbolts on the top left corner of the screen.
  - Each time a customer loses their patience, you lose a life.
  - Lose all your lives and you fail the level.
    - This game offers unlimited continues, starting you at the beginning of the failed level.
- Locations
  - Choose a location by selecting the shop button on the bottom center of the welcome screen
    - You start with only one location unlocked.
  - Earn the number of coins shown onscreen to unlock the other locations.
    - There are 4 playable locations in this game.
    - Unlockable locations cost 1,000, 2,000, and 3,000 to unlock.
    - Locations change the background image but have no direct impact on gameplay.
- Levels
  - This game has 30 levels which are unlocked sequentially.
    - Finish one level to unlock the next.
    - You can’t go back and replay previously beat levels without starting the game over at the first level.
  - In each new level, the burgers become larger and more complex.
  - Each time you reload the game, you automatically start on the most recent level you’ve unlocked.
- Tips
  - Each burger starts with a bottom bun, so you can lay that in advance.
  - Many parts of the burgers contain item repeats or a 1-2 sequence of repeats. Count in advance and do the longer repeats & longer patterns as a single movement sequence to save time.
