How to Play

Slice card symbols while avoiding the bombs.

• Starting the Game
  • On the welcome screen:
    • Choose a game mode on the center right to begin:
    • Select the speaker button on the top right corner to turn the game’s sounds on or off.
  • Your web browser automatically saves your high score.
• Game Controls

    • With your mouse, left click and drag to slice.
  • Touchscreen devices
    • Tap on the screen with your fingers and swipe to slice.

• Game Play
  • Basic rules
    • Slice the card symbols as they appear onscreen
    • Don’t slice the bombs.
    • Don’t let the symbols fall offscreen unsliced.
    • The game ends when the timer expires or you run out of lives.
      • In the Arcade and Hardcore modes, the timer is set to 60 seconds.
      • You can cut ice blocks to temporarily freeze your timer and cut more symbols. These appear more often the closer you are to timing out.
    • On the game over screen are the following buttons:
      • Select the home button to quit the game and return to the welcome screen.
      • Select the reset button to start a new session in the same mode.
  • Lives
    • You begin each game with 3 lives, represented as stars on the top right corner of the screen.
    • Each time you miss a symbol or cut a bomb, you lose 1 life.
    • Lose all your lives and the game ends.
  • Game modes
    • Arcade
      • This is the standard version of the game.
      • You play on average difficulty for 60 seconds.
    • Zen
      • Zen is the endless mode of the game. There is no time limit.
      • The game plays slow and easy; the bombs and symbols appear one at a time very slowly.
      • Subsequently, you cannot readily get combos here.
      • Play until you run out of lives.
    • Hardcore
      • The rules of standard mode remain, but the difficulty is amped up significantly.
      • Several symbols appear all at once, along with bombs.
      • You can easily receive combo bonuses in this mode.
  • Scoring
    • Each symbol you slice gives you a different number of points:
      • Clubs give you 10 points.
      • Spades give you 20 points.
      • Diamonds give you 30 points.
      • Hearts give you 40 points.
    • You also receive a combo bonus each time you slice several symbols in a single stroke.
      • The combo adds points in multiples of 10.
      • The size of bonus depends on the number of symbols cut in the stroke.
      • If you slice two diamonds (worth 30 points each), for instance, you will receive 20 extra points. Your total will be 80 points, which is the sum of the two diamonds plus 20.
    • You can view your current and previous best scores on the game over screen.
      • Each mode has its own best score.
• Target Audience
