- Tips
- Initial tower placement strategy
- You want to lay your initial towers near where the orcs enter the stage so you immediately do damage to them.
- Place towers closer to the castle after you earn points and enemies have passed your initial defenses.
- Tower upgrade strategy
- Try to upgrade towers that the enemies have not yet passed if there are many enemies on the screen (e.g. upgrade the towers closest to the castle) so that the orcs will have to pass through the upgraded line of fire.
- In general it makes sense to lay towers and upgrade as soon as you can afford to because each missed shot is potentially lost points (by not defeating an orc) and a potential orc escape.
- Other areas to focus your upgrades on would include towers:
- on entry paths which are close to the castle where there is only one tower before the castle
- near paths taken by many enemies
- in positions that can shoot onto multiple parallel paths
- in positions where orcs from multiple different paths converge
- Since each upgrade of a particular tower costs more than upgrading weaker towers it is usually worth upgrading many towers in parallel rather than heavily upgrading a single tower.
- Try to upgrade towers that the enemies have not yet passed if there are many enemies on the screen (e.g. upgrade the towers closest to the castle) so that the orcs will have to pass through the upgraded line of fire.
